    1. His life and legacy of scientific and political achievement, and his status as one of America's most influential Founding Fathers, have seen Franklin honored more than two centuries after his death on the fifty-cent piece, the $100 bill, warships, and the names of many towns, counties, educational institutions, and corporations, as well as numerous cultural references and with a portrait in the Oval Office.

Very true, he is someone that future generations will still learn about. He will still influence others just like MLK, Malcom X and others that changed America.

    2. He initially owned and dealt in slaves but, by the late 1750s, he began arguing against slavery, became an abolitionist, and promoted education and the integration of blacks in American Society.

I was not aware of this before. Quite interesting, some people do change for the better. I am glad to see he began arguing against slavery.

    3. He was promoted to deputy postmaster-general for the British colonies on August 10, 1753,[10] having been Philadelphia postmaster for many years, and this enabled him to set up the first national communications network.

All this must of really made him stand out beyond anyone around his age. I'm sure he was looked up to by others. It takes a lot of responsibility and determination..

    4. Franklin became a successful newspaper editor and printer in Philadelphia, the leading city in the colonies, publishing the Pennsylvania Gazette at the age of 23.[7] He became wealthy publishing this and Poor Richard's Almanack, which he authored under the pseudonym "Richard Saunders".[

Crazy to think you can become successful being a newspaper editor. I always figured that type of job would be not worth it as I thought you wouldn't make much money off of it. But good for him!

    5. Franklin earned the title of "The First American" for his early and indefatigable campaigning for colonial unity,

Never knew this, also the word "indefatigable is new to me as well.

    6. A polymath, he was a leading writer, printer, political philosopher, politician, Freemason, postmaster, scientist, inventor, humorist, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat.

This man did everything! Well not exactly, but very impressive.

    1. I think I should indicate why I am here in Birmingham, since you have been influenced by the view which argues against "outsiders coming in." I have the honor of serving as president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, an organization operating in every southern state, with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. We have some eighty five affiliated organizations across the South, and one of them is the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights. Frequently we share staff, educational and financial resources with our affiliates.

Martin Luther King Jr was a man with power. He had many connections around the south.

    1. Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave Vice President Mike Pence an ultimatum to invoke Section 4 of the 25th Amendment within 24 hours or the House would proceed with impeachment proceedings.

I never knew she was able to give such ultimatum.

    2. If the Senate holds a trial and a two-thirds majority of senators present vote to convict Trump, he would be the first president or former president convicted by the Senate.

That is interesting, I never knew that!

    3. came after his attempts to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election

Crazy to think he would even consider attempting this, but honestly most people would not be surprised.

    4. This was also the first presidential impeachment in which all majority caucus members voted unanimously for impeachment.

I'm sure this will make it to history books.

    5. Trump's second impeachment marked only the fourth impeachment of a president in U.S. history. With ten Republican representatives voting in support,

Again this adds on to the idea that not all republicans on will be on Trumps side.

    6. Nevertheless, a majority of the House of Representatives, including one Republican, passed a resolution urging Pence to either invoke the 25th Amendment or have the House majority impeach Trump.[8]

This goes to show how regardless if someone is on Trumps political stance, they can also acknowledge what is right from wrong and can step out of their comfort zone to do what is best.

    7. He is the only U.S. president and the only holder of any federal office to have been impeached twice, having been previously impeached in December 2019 for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.[2][3]

Being impeached twice just goes to show how bad his presidency turned out to be.
