      Okay this is something that confused me. Is this a general statement? Or is "Friend" referring to someone? This is something that stuck out to me in the other letter as well.

      As she should!!! Why should the laws apply to us if they oppress and ignore us?

      This reminds me of a point made in the lecture on how woman often used manipulation to control men. I don't necessarily think Abigail Adams needs to do that with him, but this line did read a tad bit like that. Urging him to not be like his ancestors, who we all know they messed up pretty bad.

      I'm surprised with how blunt she's being with him? She's essentially saying that these men cannot want for liberty that badly if they continue to treat women the way they do. Ergo implying that men deprive women of their liberty everyday. Rather bold (and accurate) of her.
