but details and the big picture aren’t always congruent.
We tend to downplay anything that seems distant, be it a future event or something happening to a stranger, and ignore its significance in our decision-making process.
Artists use distance and diminution to draw big things in the foreground and small things in the background
? I don't know what diminution is and how it applies to the situation.
The lawsuit, filed against the state and Republican Gov. Mike DeWine, argues that the overhaul guts the mostly citizen-elected, independent and constitutionally-created state board of its responsibilities and gives undue power to the governor. The lawsuit also says the overhaul strips parents and communities of their voice by weakening the board members they elect.
When has taking power from the people and giving it to one single person in the government ever went well. NEVER! This is a terrible idea. The governor has no educational background K-12 and doesn't know what schools are lacking and how to keep them functional and how to keep them performing at their best. You know who does know these things. Teachers and members of that community. Why strip more power from the people that actually have clue on how to handle those things. It makes absolutely no sense to let one person have all the power. It would be a complete monopoly. Those have never ended well and they never will.
Prior to budget’s passage, 11 of the board’s 19 members were elected by the public, and eight were appointed by the governor.
Sounds like the government was already involved in the education system. Why do they feel the need to have more power. It's so stupid. Almost half of the boards members were elected by the governor and now they want more. If anything more people should be elected by the public not one single person. The communities should have the voice.
