    1. All students can work toward the same firm goals and grade-level standards when provided with adequate challenge and support.

Goal setting is such an important part of learning. Having clear goals that are attainable for students, but also challenges them is necessary for the enhancement of their learning. Having firm goals that students are working to achieve will motivate them to learn about new and challenging things.

    1. I believe that technology should be used in classrooms and schools when it can afford new teaching and learning experiences that are not possible without the technology. Technology should redefine and transform learning, not just enhance it.

I definitely agree with this. Technology allows teachers and students to have access to a countless number of content based tools that are engaging and enhance their learning. However, due to the endless amount of tools on the internet it is important to evaluate them using certain criteria to make sure that they are benefiting the students.

    1. Schools that rely on remote learning during the pandemic are trying to ensure that all kids have the devices and internet bandwidth they need. While important, it takes more than everyone having comparable equipment and working WiFi for all children to get an equal shot.

This became a huge problem in my school when the pandemic first started. So many students did not have access to a computer at home and therefore could not complete their remote work. Due to this, my school gave out chrome books that students could take home. However, this did not fix the problem that students still did not have working WiFi in their homes. Remote learning is difficult enough, so it is upsetting that students have to face these challenges on top of that.

    1. Inclusive design is "design that considers the full range of human diversity with respect to ability, language, culture, gender, age, and other forms of human difference."4 It goes beyond accessibility, though accessibility is considered within inclusive design. Inclusive design celebrates difference and focuses on designs that allow for diversity to thrive.

I think that inclusive design is such a necessary aspect of teaching and learning. Being aware that students have different beliefs, cultures, values and come from all different backgrounds in essential when creating a healthy environment for all students to learn and succeed.

    1. As educators, our goal is to teach students, not just by transferring knowledge to them, but by creating meaningful learning experiences that support their knowledge and skill development.

As a college student who wants to be a teacher, this line is very important. I feel that some teachers focus more on grades and trying to get their students to pass. However, it is important to build meaningful connections with your students and allow them to grow.

    1. In educational settings, behaviorism is most closely connected to positive and negative reinforcement, like when a student gets immediate feedback (“you are correct! Great job!”) on their behavior (solving a math equation). Digital games, flashcards, and interactive quiz tools are well-suited for behaviorist learning experiences since they support stimulus-response learning through immediate feedback.

I think that this is really important. Acknowleging good behaviors will increase the chances of the student continuing said behaviors. I have learned about this in many psychology classes. I also think that feedback has more of an effect on students than we think. Teachers should give constructive criticism to allow students to improve on their work and know what they have done wrong.

    1. Teachers can work with machine learning technology to solve problems and challenges, and when used correctly, it can help their students become better learners and members of society

I think that technology is an essential part of teaching, especially in today's society. Kids grow up playing games on iPads, iPhones, Xboxes, etc. Therefore, introducing methods of learning that can be done on these devices is more interesting to them and will motivate them to learn. Technology also introduces teachers to so many new and different teaching methods that they can learn from.

    1. However, there is a tradeoff when collecting information on students. With more data collected on students than ever before, educators can track the progress of students, design personalized learning experiences, and project where students may encounter difficulty in schools. However, this same data could be misinterpreted, perpetuate stereotypes about certain student profiles, and even be used to limit opportunities for students in the future

I do believe that tracking students' progress in learning is very important when it comes to knowing specifically how to assist each student who may be at different learning levels. However, I do think that sometimes this may cause students to be grouped together when it may not reflect the actual level that they are at. This may be because the students do not know how to use technology, don't take it seriously etc.

    2. As educators, we must strive to create fully accessible learning environments for our students. This requires designing inclusive learning environments and evaluating the accessibility of digital tools and apps before using them in the classroom to ensure all learners have the same opportunities to access and engage with course content.

I find this statement to be very important in all classrooms. Ensuring that all students have the same and equal opportunity to learn and engage in the class is essential. This can be done by providing more than one way of accessing content, giving students a choice in their learning experience, evaluating that the tools and apps you use in the classroom are accessable to all students, etc.

    3. Many students complained about how long it took to load the tool due to the slow school wifi. The students were frustrated and stressed and too much class time was wasted on figuring out the tool rather than using the tool for learning.

This reminds me of when we had to download a tool in astronomy last semester. The tool was called Stellarium and as soon as everyone was told to download it on their computers, thew wifi stopped working since everyone was downloading a big package all at once. This caused for the downloading of the app to take at least an hour, which meant that the class period and even some time after was being used to just download the tool. Therefore, I understand the struggle of how long some tools take to download and how stressful it can be at the time.

    1. Specifically, 75 percent of the respondents reported not receiving training when we asked, “As you may know, the Americans With Disabilities Act requires that colleges afford the educational experience to those with disabilities as fully as possible. As of today, have you received training from your institution on how to make online course materials ADA-compliant?”

This is an extremely disappointing fact. How are all students expected to learn if their teachers don't receive the necessary training on how to make the online courses accessible to everyone. This means that students with disabilities may not be able to reach their full learning potential because the online courses are not accessible to them. This is extremely unfair and all teachers should receive training on how to make their online courses accessible to everyone.

    1. Scale. Postsecondary classrooms vary in format and size, ranging from small seminars to large-enrollment courses. In larger courses, creating small groups increases contact among students, fosters cooperative learning, and enhances social presence among learners.4 An e-learning tool should therefore not only be flexible in accommodating various class sizes but also be capable of supporting small-group work. Hence, scale focuses on the tool's affordances to accommodate the size and nature of the classroom environment.

This category I feel is very important because class sizes can vary so much. In college I have been in a classroom of up to 400 people and then went straight to a classroom with 10 people. Therefore, it is important that tools are flexible in accommodating to different class sizes. I also like that for larger classes, this article states that it is important that the tool should support small-group work. Working in small groups is an important skill to develop and will help you throughout your life.
