credibility immediately.
What happens if you spot someone else creating a fallacy? How do you be the one to address it, or do you let it go?
-
gument.
This one definitely seems like the most challenging to uncover and pick through as it is hard to tell where the original argument could be coming from.
-
ose steps
I think this one is also very common in my work place if I were to see a fallacy. It tends to become the worst case scenario if we want to try something new and people are worried if it doesn't work out then the worst will occur.
-
you people.
I have definitely seen this one before in the work place. This is definitely not professional and can lead to problems with trust within the team.
-
Spotting and correcting
This is also why it is so important in general to always remember to proof read your work, and to even invite other people to proof read work.

We had to do this at my work when we requested getting new cameras. We talked about the benefits of the ones we wanted vs. the ones we had now. the efficiency differences, quality differences, and money they would save in the long run.

Showing how this funding now will end up being an investment for the company to do better or profit more in the future is most likely always going to get a company to allocate proper funding.
-
full funding
That makes sense to list out what everything costs too because then the person providing the funding is able to see where their money is actually going throughout the entire project.

This is essentially the ideal of logos pathos and ethos when it comes to advertising techniques. We all can use the same principles to persuade someone whether that is to buy a product or to agree with you in a discussion.

A schema is a mental checklist that includes all the main criteria they use to make a particular kind of decision.
I didn't even think of making decisions to be like this but that makes so much sense. This is why people can answer to fast and be so sure of themselves with a decision.

commitment
I am curious how you go about swaying someones opinion in a professional space when the receiver is a super blunt and straight-forward individual. If all that they say is simply 'no' do you question it or just let it go?
-
uld take it in steps?
I didn't even think about taking certain requests in steps. I guess if it is such a big request, breaking it down into smaller moving pieces can cause them to become more willing.

then choose the one that flows the best.
I think that this is a great idea and I have definitely done this before. Being able to kind of rehearse a discussion and see which order of claims sounds better and makes sense before having the conversation is a good plan.
-
identify the claims
I think it is also important to make sure that you are implementing the right claims and that you omit ones that might not be helpful as that could add fuel the fire and cause an argument or certain claims could become irrelevant.
-
rative claims
I've used comparative claims when we were talking about which location was better vs. another when it came to doing one of our photoshoots for work.
Of the three homes that we looked at, we found that sarah's would be the most hopeful option in terms of space and lighting.

I have had to request for a raise. I had to make sure I went about it in a respectful manner while also being confident. It is all about how you phrase things like that and back it up.

Keeping ethics in mind while using persuasion seems like a fine line you have to walk. This seems like a skill that isn't easily acquired and may take years to master properly.

It is so important to be able to be persuasive in the work place. This can allow so many opportunities to open up for you. I think it is so important to come in with as much information as possible from both angles in order to know potential draw backs that will be brought up. It is also extremely important to be able to keep a level-head in stating your ideas while not letting emotions get the better of your argument.

So having the individual slides in turn should allow for messages to be more easily digestible and retained?

In most instances I feel like lists are created at my place at work due to priority level. Top of the list is the most important and bottom can wait till a later time. It is important for us to also keep circling back to this list as new priorities may pop up.

We use lots of tables for our photo process at work. Our analysts will make tables with the types of images that competitors will use in infographics and key features in order for us to get images for what they need.

In todays day in age it is much better to use visuals as a way for people to understand what is going on vs. just throwing up numbers. you need to see changes happening sometimes in terms of sales in order to better understand the full change that may be occurring.

There has been multiple occasions where we have tried to make changes for our department, but we knew it was crucial for us to come with evidence to back it up. It involves a ton of planning and understanding the type of proof that your colleagues are going to want to see. I'm curious to see if we went about it in the past the right ways.

. Be willing to change your goals and your message accordingly.
I agree with this statement 100%. I think you need to be willing to find out that maybe through researching your claim, it might be wrong. Its okay thought because without doing the research you wouldn't have known.

We had to definitely keep this in mind when it came to our claim that we needed to buy new cameras for our company. We came with the written differences and capabilities of a new camera, visual differences, and finally numbers to show the cost in labor and time to show how the newer camera would be more efficient for us. It luckily worked.

We like to share a lot of our testimonials on our social channels to show people's true opinions about our brand and products while creating transparency about who we are as a company. I also enjoy using testimonials within my website because again you are hearing about the real stories about people who had a great experience of working with me.

Our company is very based off of sales data. When it comes to our product analysts forecasting new buys of products to the conversion rate of our listing into physical sales. We are constantly looking at the data to verify if we need to make certain changes or if those changes show any signs of increase in performance.

I think that regardless of the type of claim, it is rather important that when you bring something up within your team that you should come with evidence in the event that you do need it to back up a claim.

This is so true and I didn't even think about this factor till now. Being able to make sure that the email still ages well and can be understood if they need to recall the protocol or information years from now, it should be able to be understood. I think this is one of those questions that goes unthought about.
