Those who write and teach through text books have the power to change the learners perception of history and the opinions of said history.

It is a terrible thing when we see people making the same or similar mistakes as our ancestors and I believe it has everything to do with the rise of anti-intellectualism in our nation. People are fearing knowledge and normalizing ignorance.

Current generational opinions on the past impact how we discuss it. Our perception of the choices made before us alter our outlook on history, thus altering pour discussion about it.

To understand ourselves we must know our context, what impacts our choices and perception in the world. Which is all changed by the past. What had happened will impact what will happen.
