    1. Gaming literacy is not about “serious games”—games designed toteach you subject matter, such as eighth-grade algebra.

      I think this is important to know because some might think our students are having too much fun while learning but learning does not always have to be serious.

      I think as technology keeps evolving the models of literacy today will be part of the past. Just like technology there will be newer and better models.

      This past school year we would play games virtually, students were put into a small groups. They would take turns and we always went over the rules before starting. Although they didn't like the rules they knew how important they were to the game to make sure the game was fair for everyone.

      I think it’s important to use technology in the classroom and it definitely gives students an advantage by accessing information faster but it’s important to have a balance in the classroom so our students are still learning from one another and have those face to face interactions.

      I think this is so important to know because prior knowledge allows students to make connections to the new information they are learning making their learning a lot more meaningful.

      As a first year teacher thinking about how to make innovative lessons in my classroom is exciting. I want to be able to be an example for my students and show them they can also be creative and be innovative.

    1. Alternate Universes and Alternate Realities

      I'm so excited for this activity. Alternate universes and alternate realities has always been so interesting to me! It would be amazing to be able to integrate this in my classroom and see what my students come up with.
