Intellectual Property
Also extremely important. Huge part of the business. Can't allow for anyone to harm the company by sharing any trade secrets. Not moral to hurt the people you work for.

Equal Opportunity Employment
Emphasis on equality. Can use this in my own ethics statement. Everyone is equal and should be treated as such. There should be no negativity towards others, the work place should be an inviting place for positive interaction.
I. Serve Our Users
Possibly most important part, as the consumers are everything in this business. Must be good to those who use the service otherwise the company will be affected negatively.
So please do read the Code and Google’s values, and follow both in spirit and letter, always bearing in mind that each of us has a personal responsibility to incorporate, and to encourage other Googlers to incorporate, the principles of the Code and values into our work. And if you have a question or ever think that one of your fellow Googlers or the company as a whole may be falling short of our commitment, don’t be silent. We want – and need – to hear from you.
Main purpose of the code of ethics. Everyone is included and everyone must be held to the standards that the company sets.
Each of us is responsible for knowing and adhering to the values and standards set forth in this Code and for raising questions if we are uncertain about company policy.
Everyone is responsible for themselves. You must act accordingly in the company, and there are no excuses for misbehavior. If you can't hold yourself to high morals and make right choices then you shouldn't be in the industry.
Management has the added responsibility for demonstrating, through their actions, the importance of this Code. In any business, ethical behavior does not simply happen; it is the product of clear and direct communication of behavioral expectations, modeled from the top and demonstrated by example.
Extremely important for administration to lead by example. If the people at the top don't follow the rules and act morally, then the employees below won't feel compelled or inspired to act that way either.
We all deserve to work in an environment where we are treated with dignity and respect. Pilot is committed to creating such an environment because it brings out the full potential in each of us, which, in turn, contributes directlyto our business success.
Every human being deserves to be treated with respect and fairness. Positive environment = positive results from employees.
When considering any action, it is wise to ask: will this build trust and credibility for Pilot? Will it help create a working environment in which Pilot can succeed over the long term? Is the commitment I am making one I can follow through with?
Constantly thinking about the company and the impact each decision makes. Every choice should be morally sound and positively affect the company.
The success of our business is dependent on the trust and confidence we earn from our employees, customers and shareholders.
Can be used for creating my own ethics statement, emphasis on the importance of ethics in my company, and how a good moral compass can influence our sales and business in a positive way.
It is the policy of the Company to provide our Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, which will serve as a guide to proper business conduct for all employees. We expect all employees to observe the highest standards of ethics and integrity in their conduct. This means following a basic code of ethical behavior that includes the following.
Main idea, providing a explanation of the basic ethics that an employee should follow.
Recognize that there’s an event to react to, that it has an ethical dimension and that it’s serious enough to require an ethical response.
Act as if everyone is watching at all times. In this day in age nothing is kept secret for long. Better to be on the good side of the situation when things come out.
Prepare for the repercussions.
Can't please everyone. Have to make the moral choice and if it affects those who are acting immorally in a negative way then so be it.
Act. Of course, for all the chaste codes of conduct, being good is a lot harder in practice than in theory. Leaders need to take an approach of doing well by doing good, otherwise the ethical drift shows little sign of slowing.
Most important part of the article. Must take everything into consideration and actually do something about it. Actions speak louder than words, and if you make moral choices people will see and your choices will impact others positively. No matter what you say or feel, if you don't back it up it means nothing.
Instead we need leaders with a strong moral compass. They, in turn, need to teach not just right vs. wrong, but a way of negotiating ethical dilemmas so that their followers always act with integrity.
Can use this when making my own ethics statement. It's not about obeying the law as there are many ways around it in this ever changing world. It is about following a strong code of morals that leads a person into making good choices.
Are dubious morals inevitable for successful business?
Main idea of the article
