How do you think about the relationship between social media and “real life”?
I think that social media is an outlet for people to escape "real life". I think that this both has benefits and disadvantages. Social media is a good way for people to stay in contact with each other and can also be really good for entertainment, However, social media can also lead to big insecurities and false viewpoints of the world.
Actions are judged on the sum total of their consequences (utility calculus) The ends justify the means.
Another part of consequentialism that this did not talk about is Act consequentialism. This is essentially where every single individual action is evaluated individually. An example of this would be if someone robbed a bank to use the money to help a dying hospital patient. That robbery would be morally correct
