Someone to coming to pick the speaker up, at night, with no headlights on. So the speaker could be sneaking out without her parent permission.

    2. And I tend to close my eyes when it hurts sometimes

Here, the music changes and we reach the peak of his depression, as he struggles with having to move on. He can still see her when he closes his eyes, but it hurts to know he can't be with her

    3. I guess I kinda liked the way you helped me escape

Since the first verse, he has changed what he said. It's almost like the process of moving on. Before, he mourns her, and wishes he could be with her, and now, in this verse, he realizes that he needs to move on, and that he is better off without her.

    4. This all or nothing way of loving got me sleeping without you

Again, he repeats the first part, just ending it differently. He no longer gets to sleep next to them, and to me, this is almost like he is blaming her. That its her fault and that she was the toxic one, not him.

    5. I'm going under and this time I fear there's no one to turn to

He starts off the next verse with the same line as the first verse, but ends it with "and this time I fear there's no one to turn to" as opposed to "there's no one to save me" He could be starting to face reality, that the relationship is over, and there's nothing he can do. He no longer needs saving, but just someone to talk to.

    6. I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved

Since he uses the word "kinda" he is basically down playing his feelings. He depended on this person so much only for them to hurt him, and now he is starting to deny his feelings

    7. To get me through it all

He wants the person there with him while struggles through this breakup, but he knows that his person isn't good for him so he can't go running back to them

    8. And you're not here

He "needs" the person to help him through this, but in a bad struck of irony, he can't go to the person because they are no longer together

    9. I guess I kinda liked the way you numbed all the pain

After seeing this line, it's made me realize that he is basically mourning the lost of his relationship. Maybe he had all of those things with her, but when the relationship ended, it was gone.

    10. I need somebody to heal

He is asking for someone to heal the pain that has resulted from the relationship. Possibly a rebound or just someone who is a good friend.

    11. This all or nothing really got a way of driving me crazy

He is putting all he can into the relationship but she is not. He has gotten to the point that he is starting to get tired of it

    12. I'm going under and this time I fear there's no one to save me

He's depressed, or struggling with something, and he feels alone, with no one to back him up to save him. This is a metaphor of someone sinking in a body of water, and the feeling that they can't be pulled back to the surface

    1. refuses to bend in the wind,

The "stiff bamboo" that "refuses to bend in the wind" could be a metaphor for someone standing up for what they believe in. Maybe the poet has a belief and this poem is her standing up to people looking down on it?

    1. Red lips and rosy cheeks

She is describing herself, with red lips and rosy cheeks, which is normally seen as attractive or sweet and innocent. She is still describing that picture of their good times together.

    2. Staring at the sunset, babe

This goes along with the last line. She is putting a picture in your head of her standing staring at a sunset, with a nice dress on. She doesn't want the relationship to be viewed as "oh, why did we do that" but instead "yeah we did that, and we have some good memories out of it."

    3. Say you'll remember me standing in a nice dress

Her saying "standing in a nice dress" automatically puts a good image in your head, letting you infer that she wants to be remembered in a good way, not a bad way.

    4. He's so bad but he does it so well

Here, Taylor mixes a positive, and a negative, saying "He's so bad" and then "but he does it so well" which helps back up the fact that she could be getting manipulated in this relationship. She may want to be in it yes, but she is having this conflict of "I know he's bad, but he looks so good."

    5. He's so tall and handsome as hell

She goes off to describe that "he's so tall and handsome as hell" which is a positive. This could mean that the guy is very charming, and her could be on the verge of manipulating her, since she is having a back and forth conflict with herself.

    6. Nothing lasts forever, but this is gonna take me down

She acknowledges that the relationship won't last forever, but its still going to hurt her, which is a self conflict. She knows that it won't last forever, but at the same time, she still goes through with it even though it might hurt her even more.

    7. Drive out of the city, away from the crowds"

This confirms my annotation from the previous line, the man wants to run away with her, out of the city and away from the crowds. He might just want her to himself, with no distractions of people or work around.

    8. He said, "Let's get out of this town

So there's this person talking to her, asking her to run away. This man might be a symbol of her dream? Or something completely different.

    9. Wildest Dreams

Right on a first glance, when I read this title, I think of something dreamy, so this whole song could be about a dream or something that Taylor Swift wish she had but doesn't.

    1. perfectly, gathering the orange leather

"Orange leather" is referring to the ball, so he is taking the ball into his hand and is getting ready to make a shot.

    2. boxes out his man and times his jump

"Boxes out his man" is the center making it hard for the defensive team to get a rebound. He is timing his jumps, making sure he is doing all of the correct things and all of the right techniques to get the ball into the hoop.

    3. and for once our gangly starting center

Gangly means tall/awkward. So the center, who is most of the time the tallest member of the team, is going to be making a play. "For once" at the beginning makes me think that he may not always play like he should, so it surprises the narrator.

    4. A hook shot kisses the rim and hangs there, helplessly, but doesn’t drop,

This tells us that whoever had the ball, tried to shoot the ball in the net, but the ball didn't go through the rim. Just balancing for a few seconds and then drops outside the hoop.

    5. Fast Break

In basketball, a fast break is strategy where the offensive team tries to move the ball up court and into scoring position as quickly as possible, so that the defensive team is outnumbered and has little time to react. This title tells us that the poem is probably going to be centered around a basketball game.

    1. I can make the bad guys good for a weekend

She says this because she knows that he ins't that good of a guy and she is making a paradox with this. Saying "I can make the bad guys good." She could also be saying that she knows that she can change him

    2. I'm dying to see how this one ends

I think what Taylor Swift is implying here is that she wants to see how a relationship with those man might go. She's already stated that she knows that he's a player but she might just want to be in a relationship for the drama.

    3. Magic, madness, heaven, sin

This line ties right back to the previous line, she's saying that she can give him all of these things, "Magic, madness, heaven, sin." so possibly the good and the bad

    4. And I know you heard about me

I think she also has some rumors about herself going around. Though, at this point it's unclear what those rumors are, but they are obviously something.

    5. Nice to meet you, where you been?

This gives off a very bitter sweet tone to it. Saying "Nice to meet you," and then cutting straight to the point, "where you been?"

After reading a litter ahead, I think that this might be her saying "where have you been all my life?" instead of a bitter sweet line

    6. I can read you like a magazine

She's basically saying he's easy to read. That she knows who he is just by looking at him. Thinking back to it, I think this contradicts my thought of them knowing each other before

    7. New money, suit and tie

Now I think she might have known this guy before. She says "new money" and that makes me think they have some sort of history or have talked to each other. We also get a quick description of this man, saying he's in a "suit and tie." So he could be some business person or going somewhere formal.

    8. Love's a game, wanna play?" Ay

So while she thinks he's a player, she is also thinking "Let's play." So even though she thinks he's a player, she is still finding herself falling for him.

    9. Saw you there and I thought

She's saying she saw him somewhere, maybe at a store, school. This line tells us that the next few lines are going to be of her thoughts.

    10. I could show you incredible things

I think this line is pretty clear. She is saying "Oh, if you were with me, I could show you incredible things." So she may be interesting or talking to this person, she thinks she has a chance with, but she obviously has some anger against them.

    1. In Pirouette to blanch a Troupe ‑Or lay a Prima, mad

She wants to be the main performer in the show. Metaphorically, this could be saying she wants to be put out there once again. She might be saying she dreams when she can be the "main performer" instead of a backup character.

    2. Would put itself abroad

From a literal standpoint, this line is meaning she is putting herself out there. That her knowledge of ballet is allowing her to perform and do all of these things. From a metaphoric stand point, maybe this problem she had been having is not being herself. Maybe she has been preventing herself from being her and in this line, she describes that yearning to but herself out there.

    3. That had I Ballet Knowledge

Whatever Emily is going through, she is telling herself that she has what's in her to do it. That she "has the knowledge of ballet." While she does not have the knowledge of ballet, or from the metaphoric point of view, she does not have the will to keep going, she can have these things in her imagination.

    4. A Glee possesseth me

This connects back to the last line.In her thoughts, she is happy. She is full of "glee." Glee means full of energy and high-spirited. So she could be saying that even though she is unable to dance, she still loves to do it.

    5. But oftentimes, among my mind

Looking at this from the same metaphoric point of view, we can infer that her own mind is the only way to escape her problems. Whether it's that she does not know how to dance, what dance to do, or is struggling, that's how I see this line

    6. I cannot dance opon my Toes ‑No Man instructed me

I take this as her saying that she can't dance because she has no one telling her what to do or what moves she should be doing. This could also be a metaphor that she is struggling with something and has no guidance on how to solve it.
