    1. The other is practical. This is a writing course. Writing is a form of thinking in public, and using AI to complete your homework deprives you of the opportunity to do either. I do not expect perfect writing in this class. The most important thing you can bring to this class is your own personal viewpoint.

      I think the dependence on modern AI tools deprives us of using our own creativity and free-thinking. I appreciate that our instructor doesn't expect perfect writing but rather focuses on our own personal developments of our individual viewpoints.

    2. As long as work has been submitted that fulfills all of the requirements of the assignment, work will receive at least a B grade. Work which demonstrates higher quality and/or demonstrates risk-taking in considering or implementing new ideas will be awarded an A.

      I appreciate this type of "Grading Contract." I feel like these guidelines allow us to write freely without focusing so much on achieving a perfect grade. This allows for more creativity and flexibility within our writing,

      ACE Outcome 1 is required for my degree. I feel as though learning various forms of writing and furthering my existing writing knowledge is vital for the development of my overall education.

    4. In this course I need you to be brave. You will read things that may make you uncomfortable. You will discuss difficult topics. This will stretch the boundaries of what you may think you are capable of to new levels.

      I am looking forward to writing about topics that are more uncomfortable. I feel like, as students, we focus a lot on writing reports and more analytical projects. I hope that this class allows us to have a more vulnerable perspective on writing.
