    1. Back in the 1980s, there was a grea~ de~l of buzz about a 'mitochondrial Eve_'

I think the author could provide more detail on what "mitochondrial Eve" actually means in scientific terms? I want to know how this is used to trace human ancestry, and what are the limitations when trying to understand human history?

    2. What does all this really tell ~s a~out social ~nequ?-lity in the last Ice Age?

At the beginning of the book the author talks about how ancient theories about the origin of humans were replaced by evidence. But now in this section the author talks about how important it is to interpret historical evidence. With half being 'documented' and half being myths and stories, how do we know that this documented evidence, like early religious texts, are truthful?

    1. Essentially the question is: are humans innately good or innately evil? But if you think about it, the question, framed in these terms, makes very little sense. ‘Good’ and ‘evil’ are purely human concepts.

There's a lot of debate on the definition of what is 'good' and 'evil' and it's not a clear-cut answer. We won't know what makes humans 'evil' because of the many factors and definitions within the human nature debate.
