    1. GoFundMe: #1 Fundraising Platform for Crowdfunding. URL: https://www.gofundme.com/ (visited on 2023-12-08).

I think this is a really good example of positive crowdsourcing. I've donated on it a couple of times especially when it had to do with things I related to or believed. For example, when Immigration and deportations was terrible, I always tried to donate even a little bit in order to help reunite families.

    1. In what ways do you think you’ve participated in any crowdsourcing online?

I think I have participated in crowd sourcing when liking and engaging with TikTok's that go towards something important. A lot of times the video will include a caption saying, "Stay for 20 seconds so I can make enough money to pay for my dog's surgery". And although I don't know if I fully believe, a lot of other people will stay as well.

It is so crazy that people will fake having some sort of illness all because of attention. I have first hand seen the toll that cancer has on families and how much it damages them. It is completely unsettling.

    1. In what ways have you found social media bad for your mental health and good for your mental health?

I've found social media has been bad for me because I find myself doomscrolling instead of doing things that could be productive. I also find that I watch news a lot more and my anxiety tends to be higher when I do engage in more news sources. Something good that has come out of social media is that I am more informed about what is going on. Also, I have learned a lot of new information and I am able to communicate with friends and family who aren't close distance.

It is so crazy how much controversy has occurred surrounding the White House and the people in the White House. It makes me wonder how much stuff have people in power gotten away with. For example, Monica Lewinsky claims she had sexual encounters with Bill Clinton and he denied it multiple times. It is upsetting to see that Presidents keep getting away with things.

    1. So we can look at the evolution of these books: which got copied, and how they changed over time.

This makes me wonder about History. We learn all of our information from journals, books, etc.. So it makes me think what if some parts of what we know to be "true" are actually fake. If people had to have copies of books and scribe them, it is possible that any information could've been distorted. Just like the telephone game.

    1. Kashmir Hill. How Target Figured Out A Teen Girl Was Pregnant Before Her Father Did. Forbes, February 2012. URL: https://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2012/02/16/how-target-figured-out-a-teen-girl-was-pregnant-before-her-father-did/ (visited on 2023-12-07).

This was a really cool and interesting read. I wonder what exactly the daughter was looking up that made Target absolutely sure that she was pregnant. I also found it very noble and humble that the dad reached out after and apologized to the manager; it was very sweet. But also, I bet the daughter was stressed out especially if as a high schooler, she was trying to hide the pregnancy.

    1. What experiences do you have of social media sites making particularly good recommendations for you?

I think a good example of a social media platform that makes good recommendations would be TikTok. Although there is a lot of controversy surrounding how they're able to create recommendations for you, they do a really good job at it. For example, if I am searching up dinner ideas my for you page immediately feeds me food content. Or if I rewatch a funny video my for you page becomes ten times more funny afterwards.
