I think it's interesting that Russ changes the names of the characters. To refer to joanna she used me, myself then refered to the third person and said Joanna. She refered to jeannine as jeannine then she. Not sure what this is meant to show.

After reading the story, it's interesting that she mentions the idea of entropy. She gives details about her crazy life as a housewife and entropy involves the disorder of molecules. I think this is relating the idea of the disorder in her life and the disorder of the universe. The second law of thermodynamics states that entropy of an isolated system never decreases therefore can only increase. Just like a housewife's chaos, it only increases.

Why does each of these ideas have their own number? Clearly the author is trying to portray something here but what?

I think it's interesting that the character is self-conscious about herself. Zoline used the pen-name PA Zoline to hide the fact that she was a women however she gives insight to how women feel. I don't think that a male author would describe/have insight to a female character this way.
