      Alliteration, also barnacles being held back; alluding to facing reality

      "chronic angers" reference to heat also could say something about the mood of the poem. Tone throughout the poem seems to correlate with harsh winter; words like "splinter" add to the aggressiveness.

      Someone reaches out in a swift motion to throw the ball, someone attempts to stop him but misses. Use of words like "brother" could signify his opponent is someone hes close to.

      Ended up injuring himself which is also another sign he's patriotic for basketball and that he likes basketball to a great extent.

      Has an aggressive tone, "explodes past them in a fury" but transitions to a calmer tone "laying it gently."

    5. an underhand pass toward the other guard    scissoring past a flat-footed defender who looks stunned and nailed to the floor    in the wrong direction, trying to catch sight of a high, gliding dribble and a man   

      Chaotic, people fighting for the basketball and people are getting caught off guard.
