“Look, lord Manco Inca, here I bring you your archenemy in chains. Decide for yourself what you want to do with him.”
The marquis' offering of Challochima to Manco Inca conveys the mirage of diplomacy possessed by the Spaniards in their pursuit to conquer the Incans. In order to gain further trust from Manco Inca, the marquis reverently presents to him Challochima, using courteous language like "here I bring you" and also calling Challochima his "archenemy" to assure Manco Inca that the Spaniards are his allies. By doing this, the Spaniards have feigned loyalty to further dismiss from Manco Inca any doubts he may have towards them, consequently helping the Spaniards gain more power over the Inca Empire through their manipulation of its king.
