    1. Boynton Health Service surveyed 9,931 students at 14 different two- and four-year schools. Then they matched grade point averages with health problems such as stress, smoking and drinking as well as typical lifestyle choices such as gambling and excessive screen time. They found that students with unhealthy behaviors had significantly lower GPAs. Stress was one of the biggest factors. Of the 69.9 percent of students who reported they were stressed, 32.9 percent said that stress was hurting their academic performance.

This shows that stress can lead to lower academic achievement

    1. The cost of the uniforms is another problem for families. The average cost of uniforms is about two hundred fifty dollars to three hundred dollars depending on the uniform brand. If the uniforms are expensive, than the families with less money will have a harder time finding ways to pay for the uniforms. People should not be forced to buy something they do not want or cannot afford.

The cost is another big problem, because not every family has the money to afford the expensive cloths.

    2. The solution to the problem of uniforms would be to stay away from the uniforms and instead enforce a dress code that still allows students to express themselves in the way they dress but so that they can dress modestly.

Dress code will be a great solution for the uniform problem, it allows the schools to be unified but also allows the kids to be expressive in their clothing.

    1. Sure, teachers don’t have enough to do! (sarcasm). Now give them spreadsheets to learn all the gang colors and dress codes appropriate and inappropriate during school hours. Lets face it, each school and each teacher will have their own personal definition of what’s appropriate to wear. I’m not a statistician but, I’m sure implementing this policy will take away valuable time better spent teaching the skills our children need to get through this world.

Uniforms take away instructional time, now the teachers and staff must worry about who is in dress-code insrtead of getting kids to learn.

    1. Everyone says uniforms are going to help the bullying problems, that so not true. Kids will bully you on anything they can think of, hair, bag, friends, animals, house, type of phone, weight and height, and the list goes on

Uniforms don help the case of decreasing the bullying rate, the help families spend more money on things they don't need.

    2. Why would you make every kid look the same. the schools are taking away everyone's freedom they already took away there freedom to go to the bathroom on there own. now we have to announce it to the hole classroom. plus the expense on the parents part to buy the kids uniforms and cloths for after school and on weekends.

Uniforms are a waste of time money and fashion, people are not allowed to express themselves in their clothing, also parents are forced to spend extra money on cloths, because they kids cant stay in school cloths all day.

    1. Uniforms can make you feel so uncomfortable. Several reasons can be given for the agitation to ban school uniforms, but one that most people can easily identify with is the fact that they are quite uncomfortable to be in all the time.

Uniforms are uncomfortable, this is not the case for all but many can agree with this claim, people would rather wear cloths they can be comfortable in, not saying pajamas would b the best to choose, but something that is comfortable and presentable.

    2. Uniforms slow down development into adulthood. These early days are very important in the development of these students, imposing school uniforms on them denies them the chance to choose what to wear, which is a very important symbol of adulthood.3. Uniforms reduce self-esteem. Uniforms never make anyone look his or her best because they had no say in the choice of style and design. Girls are the worst hit by this low self-esteem syndrome due to the use of uniforms.

People who are forced to wear uniforms develop slower than others, also they are being denied their freedom of expression, which can then lower their self-esteem because they forced to look like everyone else.

    1. 81% Say Yes

81% of people who took this survey says that uniforms are a waste of time and money, due to financial problems.

    2. For example, nearly 800,000 students go to school wearing poorly-fitting uniforms because their parents can't afford to keep buying new ones, and a further 400,000 have been sent home for wearing incorrect uniforms.

School uniforms are a burden on families who cant afford them. They are just a way for clothing businesses to make more money.

    1. Average annual cost to parents for school uniforms $249

The average household spends about $249 on uniform alone, on top of that they must pay their bills, and needs for the house.

    2. Annual school uniform sales $1,300,000,000

School uniforms make over 1 Billion dollars each year.
