    1. Why do hackers hack? Intellectual curiosity—to see how things work. Personal protection—to patch their own networks. Enjoyment—to have fun with unsuspecting users. Activism—to support a cause. Financial gain—to make money by identifying software glitches. Criminal activity—to cheat people out of sensitive information, and for financial gain.

      I love that the author provides reasons for why hackers choose to do what they do. It gives readers insight into how diverse the motivations are for hacking, ranging from intellectual curiosity to financial gain. Because I've always viewed hacking in a negative manner, is there ever a time when hacking is justifiable or ethical (aside from personal protection)?

    2. What kind of impact can this have on your life? Why should you care?

      Staying mindful of the footprint we leave online is incredibly important. From your friends and family to random strangers or future employers, the things that we post and interact with online project images of the person that we are. Something that really put this into perspective for me was social media and when influencers would get cancelled by the public for something they posted 10+ years ago.

    3. Two-factor authentication, or two-step authentication, is a login process where the user is asked to provide two authentication points, such as a password and a code shared through a text message. Two-factor authentication enhances login security.

      While it can seem frustrating in the moment, the addition of two-factor authentication has likely protected our digital security more times than we know. With the use of double authentication, digital citizens are able to comfortably trust websites are protect their information.
