the Stanford Prison study
The Stanford Prison experiment was suppose to last longer than it originally did. However the people that were given the role of the guards had truly become violent and mistreated the prisoners.
The researcher might also observe non-verbal cues and behaviors during the interviews, such as changes in tone of voice or body language.
People could often change their behavior when they know they're being watched. Also known as the Hawthorne effect.
Surveys
surveys aren't always the most reliable source when doing an experiment since the people taking the surveys can often manipulate the truth. a single blind experiment would probably be the safest route to take for an accurate result.
When a study is published, these methods should be described in detail—just like a cooking recipe, so that another researcher should be able to duplicate the study exactly.
This tests the reliability of each experiment

Psychologists, like other scientists, publish their work.
Don't all psychologist have to publish their work in order to get their PHD?
