      New

Bug - 35531169: In screen reader mode, tables with row selectors and cell- or row-level links require a row to be selected first before its cell- or row-level links can correctly act on the proper row record context.

Which UI is affected? Budget Monitor, Review Budgetary Control Balances, etc.

Some tables, such as Budget Monitor, actually don't need a row selector because there are no row-level menu actions. For these tables, it may be possible to get rid of the row selector and therefore does not impose a row selection as a prerequisite before a row-level hyperlink action. We need to verify if removal of row selector can mess up row-level key identifier and therefore need to renominate the key columns for the tables.

But other tables, such as Review Budgetary Control Balances, actually need a row selector for row-level menu action such as adding selected rows to Budget Transfer. For these tables, it is not feasible to get rid of the row selector. I am not sure if there is a way to ignore the row-selector for some actions (e.g., row-level hyperlink) but observe that for other actions (e.g., Add to Budget Transfer). Dev can explore or we may have to ask the central team to determine if it our bug or a bug at all.

Why does the selection of hierarchies need to be based on BO. It can be based on operational table. Only the sourcing of the hierarchical relationships in AV outline need to be based on these hierarchical relationships replicated in BO.

    1. You can use the same revenue ChartField combination to fund multiple expenditures and the revenue method can be different for each association. The only requirement is that the sum of the revenue percentages cannot exceed 100 percent for any given revenue ChartField combination.

A given revenue can fund multiple expenditures. To do so, setup multiple records provided that sum of funding % is within 100%:

      (1) Revenue A (20%) > Expenditure X

      (2) Revenue A (30%) > Expenditure Y

    2. Enter the ChartField values and budget period that designate the expenditure budget whose available budget balance is increased by the associated revenue budget on the same line. You can enter the same expenditure budget more than once if you want more than one revenue budget to increase its available budget balance.

A given expenditure can be funded by multiple revenues. To do so, set up multiple records:

      (1) Revenue A > Expenditure X

      (2) Revenue B > Expenditure X

    1. Lower Limit for Revenues as % of Current Budget (RIB)

Note that a percentage entry only makes sense if you have budgeted for revenues FM account assignments. You can, for instance, define that only revenues going beyond the budgeted revenues may be claimed. You do this by entering a percentage record of 100 %.

    1. Explanation and Pros / Cons Analysis of Existing vs. New Approaches

      Expand ...

Linda points out that if customers want to Import Budget for BC & GL (simultaneously), given the raw, natural form of budget data will have some segments expressed by parent value, it will only make sense that they accept the Parent_Base member in GL cube.

So, it may make sense for the Import Budget for BC & GL (20B) feature to be closely tie to the condition / feature that generate Parent_Base.

But it still does not make sense for the generation of Parent_Base is tied to the Sync Hierarchy feature.

  18. May 2020
    1. no XCC Balances for the impacted CBs period range

Changes are limited to new *** segment values that not in balances / activities

    2. Now with this new enhancement, since Refresh program will detect tree changes that do not require recalc we can programmatically bring down the CBs only when recalculation is required.

How do we determine if tree changes does not require recalculation?

      • compare the control label parents : leaves portion of the tree (the relevant portion of the tree that we display in View Definition in File) between the existing XCC RF snapshot and the refreshed GL RF snapshot
      • if they are identical, then no recalculation
      • if they are different, but the differences are all due to new *** leaf segment values, then also no recalculation
      • repeat for every control label used among (non Perm Closed) control budgets

***How do we determine "new" leaf segment values?

      • not used in XCC Balances / Activities
      • creation date in value set
    3. Suggested Change

There is a different approach to improve the refresh tree process by minimizing the number of periods that needs to be recalculated, not from the angle of automating the take-down of CB's.

We use the tree version / label by period range table to detect which period range(s) need to be recalculated by flagging the row of period range record that has been updated. But we did not optimize this flagging for common use cases.

Use Case 1: Extend CB by a year / Same tree version & label

      Before:

      CB Period Range: Jan-19 - Dec-19

      TV - Label: Jan-19 - Dec-19 | TV1 | L1

      After:

      CB Period Range: Jan-19 - Dec-20 "

      TV - Label: Jan-19 - Dec-20 " | TV1 | L1 (Recalc = Y)

If we somehow force users to create a new row for tree version / label by period range such that the existing row is unchanged:

      After (New Approach):

      CB Period Range: Jan-19 - Dec-20 "

      TV - Label: Jan-19 - Dec-19 | TV1 | L1 (Recalc = N)

      TV - Label ": Jan-20 - Dec-20 | TV1 | L1 (Recalc = Y)

      Use Case 2: Mid-year re-org / Mid-year intro of new leaves / Same tree version & label

      Before:

      CB Period Range: Jan-19 - Dec-19

      TV - Label: Jan-19 - Dec-19 | TV1 | L1

      After:

      CB Period Range: Jan-19 - Dec-19

      TV - Label: Jan-19 - Sep-19 " | TV1 | L1 (Recalc = Y)

      TV - Label ": Oct-19 - Dec-19 | TV1 | L1 (Recalc = Y)

If we somehow force users to create a new row for tree version / label by period range even though the new row's periods overlap those of the existing row, and we programmatically change the end-date of the existing row and therefore can flag the existing row as "unchanged" and Recalc = N:

      After (New Approach):

      CB Period Range: Jan-19 - Dec-19

      TV - Label: Jan-19 - Sep-19 | TV1 | L1 (Recalc = N)

      TV - Label ": Oct-19 - Dec-19 | TV1 | L1 (Recalc = Y)
