I'm reminded of how Native American were portrayed when I was in elementary school, and even other racial/ethnic groups are portrayed in a negative, almost dehumanized way.

I think even within a school, not all students are getting the same equitable education. In high school, there were teachers who gave more attention and support to certain students.
However, questions have been raised about whether guiding frameworks, prominent programs, and associated assessments adequately reflect, cultivate, and leverage cultural assets and promote the well-being of youth of color and those from under-resourced backgrounds2.
I've wondered this as well.

this is something that I haven't seem much of in SEL readings, so it's awesome to read more about what research says/has done and plans to do
