      Wondering if it might be a good idea to put a short meaning in parenthesis. In the next portion on excretion, there are many terms with parenthesis and it is helpful when reading.

    1. Mindfulness focuses on improving an individual’s ability to accept and be present in the current moment. Distress tolerance is geared toward increasing a person’s tolerance of negative emotion, rather than trying to escape from it. Emotion regulation strategies are used to manage and change intense emotions that are causing problems in a person’s life. Interpersonal effectiveness techniques allow a person to communicate with others in a way that is assertive, maintains self-respect, and strengthens relationships.

      I did not see effective methods that can be utilized by the nurse when caring for clients with barriers to communication.
