    1. Configure the Test Application in Python
      • Copy and save the code into your project folder using a text editor. Be sure to save the filename with a .py extension.
      • Modify the code to use your Google Sheets ID.
      • Execute the program: python3 <your-file>.py
    2. You can install the Google API Python Client Library using the following command: pip install google-cloud

Linux distributions like Ubuntu ship with Python baked into the OS. These distributions use their own package managers to handle Python and its libraries. Installing or upgrading packages with pip in these environments risks conflicting with system dependencies, potentially breaking key applications or even the OS itself. To avoid breaking the OS you must create a virtual environment then install the python library into it. To create a virtual environment on Ubuntu do the following BEFORE trying to install the Google API Python Client Library: * Navigate to the project folder on your machine. * Create the virtual environment: python3 -m venv myenv * Activate the virtual environment you just created: source myenv/bin/activate * Now you can install the Google API Python Client Library into your activated virtual environment: pip install google-cloud * Install the Google Authentication Library for Python: pip install google-auth * Install the Google Authentication OAuth Library for Python: pip install google-auth-oauthlib * Deativate your virtual environment when you are finished working with it: deactivate

    1. Upload Known files

upload your known files to a folder on your server

Go the root where your known folder exists in CPanel File Manager tool.

Right click on your known folder in CPanel File Manager tool and click Permissions.

      Set Permissions to:

      User: Read, Write, Execute

      Group: Read, Execute

      World: no permissions

      This would be chmod 750.

If you don't do this the Known startup process will fail.

    2. dbname = "Your MySQL database name"

KNOWN_DBHOST must be set to "localhost" or startup will fail.

You must define your MySQL database in advance using CPanel MySQL Database Wizard or a similar tool. After defining your database create a user and assign it to your MySQL Database as an admin (all privileges). Use CPanel phpAdmin tool to connect to your database, click the SQL tab and paste in the contents of the mysql.sql file located in known/warmup/schemas/mysql folder. After pasting in the SQL hit CTRL+Enter to run the SQL and create the tables.

Use CPanel Domain tool to define a domain pointing to the location of your Known folder. Ensure the domain you define uses PHP 8.03 or higher (use CPanel MultiPHP Manager tool).

Lastly go to the domain you defined and Known should start up for you, prompting you to define an admin user.

    1. committing election fraud in a way that changes the result is difficult, nearly impossible

Auditing our elections to ensure accuracy and security is also nearly impossible. I believe our election system is filled with exploitable vulnerabilities that neither party seems interested in fixing. This makes me believe that both parties are likely exploiting these vulnerabilities. I posted some ideas on fixing these vulnerabilities on my sadly neglected blog here: https://evdemon.org/fixing-our-broken-election-system/

    1. Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. 3 For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. 4 The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. 5 So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience. 6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.

Christians are called to have a submissive spirit and follow leadership but this is not absolute. God defines the limits of leaders and when these limits violate scripture, we are to follow God, not man.

    1. Paul's instructions take a surprising turn in the first half of the chapter. Those in Christ must be "submissive" or "subject to" human authorities in the government. In other words, one's place in God's kingdom does not allow us to ignore those in charge of whatever earthly kingdom we occupy. This is not just about keeping the peace. Christians are to submit to earthly authorities because God put them there. In fact, Paul says that every position of government authority on earth was, ultimately, filled by God Himself for His purposes. To improperly resist authority, then, is to resist God (Romans 13:1–2).

Christians are called to have a submissive spirit and follow leadership but this is not absolute. God defines the limits of leaders and when these limits violate scripture, we are to follow God, not man.

    1. This is the design for a mobile loyalty and order management application I am building for the Tinkleman coffee shop for the BTABoK. It has an integration engine, serverless, macroservices (DDD grouped REST services), a legacy data center, a point of sale and a new react application (both native and browswer based) and that doesnt yet get into identity and security, performance and the other views of the system.

    1. Paul and Barnabas moved on to Iconium. Iconium was a “cultural melting pot” of the native communities: Phrygians, Greeks, Jews, and Roman colonists.  Paul and Barnabas followed the pattern of speaking first in the synagogue, where many Jews and Greeks believed.

2 Corinthians 11:13, Paul clearly stated there were also false apostles—which implied there were real apostles. There are likely real apostles that never met Christ. Not sure I followed this discussion. I couldn't really follow his points here - they seemed off-topic from Acts 14. Jesus gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Apostles and prophets "get things rolling" until the unity of the faith occurs (the "five-fold"- what is this??) Some churches have deacons but not elders. I'm really getting lost in this discussion.

    1. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and a few other blockchains have proven that they can last for more than a decade despite challenges, changing expectations, and dramatic architectural transitions

Blockchains and cryptocurrencies are not actually decentralized: the top 10% of miners control 90%. Just 0.1% (about 50 miners) control close to 50% of mining capacity. See here for a fascinating perspective on this topic.

    1. Jeremiah 29:11

    2. Isaiah 40:31

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

    3. What is your favorite promise found in Scripture from God?

My favorite is John 3:16: * “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Others: Romans 6:23: * "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 8:1–4: * “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

    4. Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

    5. Isaiah 40:31

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

    1. Advisor | Advisor Score (preview

As your personalized cloud consultant, Azure Advisor continually assesses your usage telemetry and resource configuration to check for industry best practices. Advisor then aggregates its findings into a single score. With this score, you can tell at a glance if you're taking the necessary steps to build reliable, secure, and cost-efficient solutions.

The Advisor score consists of an overall score, which can be further broken down into five category scores. One score for each category of Advisor represents the five pillars of the Well-Architected Framework.

    1. Create an External App Service

A web app in Azure is an App Service Plan and an App Service

An App Service Plan is • the container in which your web applications run • used to determine the resources available to your app and their boundaries

ANALOGY App service environment is the server, or servers on which your application is deployed. App service plan defines what spec of hardware your app runs on, and how many servers you have. You can deploy multiple web apps in the same app service plan, you do not need a separate web app plan for each web app.

      • Apps in the same app service plan will share the same resources (NOISY NEIGHBOR RISK) GUIDANCE
      • If it’s a demanding application that needs lot’s of resources or could impact other apps, Put it in it’s own plan
      • Need to scale the number of instances differently for one app compared to another, they will get their own plan (especially if I am going to use auto scale) Apps that need to be in different regions need to be in different plans (apps in the same region can all share)
      • Using the free or shared tier - put all things in the same plan
    2. Create an ASE and an App Service plan together

3 ways to create an ASE:

      1. While creating an App Service plan. This method creates the ASE and the App Service plan in one step.
      2. As a standalone action. This method creates a standalone ASE, which is an ASE with nothing in it. This method is a more advanced process to create an ASE. You use it to create an ASE with an ILB.
      3. From an Azure Resource Manager template. This method is for advanced users. For more information, see Create an ASE from a template.
    1. When using a virtual network as part of a cross-premises architecture, be sure to coordinate with your on-premises network administrator to carve out an IP address range that you can use specifically for this virtual network. If a duplicate address range exists on both sides of the VPN connection, traffic will route in an unexpected way. Additionally, if you want to connect this virtual network to another virtual network, the address space cannot overlap with the other virtual network. Plan your network configuration accordi
      • Need to coordinate with on-premises network administrator to identify an IP address range that we can use for our VNet
      • We can't have a duplicate address range on both sides of the connection
      • We can't have one address space overlap with another
    1. Enter 10.1.0.0/16

CIDR IP address contains two groups of numbers: * Network prefix (123.45.67.89): The binary configuration of a network address <br /> * Suffix (/12): The indication of how many bits are in the entire CIDR address

Simplifies routing rules, enables routers to reach network traffic destinations much quicker.
