Oldbuck has been living quite a life. His "love" or infatuation for his ladylove have made him crazy. This reminds me of a modern day superhero movie in the ways that everything is so far fetched and completely unrealistic.

This is a reoccurring phrase throughout the comic.

It seems strange that he would leave his own wedding and go all the way home just to let his dog out.

He should be happy because they are escaping, so why does he kill a man who simply pursued them?
