    1. When you have a lot of people passionate about hockey, and not about religion,

Interesting to see that the English attacking the sport of hockey was more unsettling than attaching their religion.

    1. French-speaking populist hero.

The tension between the English and French has built up over many years. The attack of their hero is a large reason for why the revolution started.

    1. You’ve never seen a hockey player like Maurice Richard. Not Crosby. Not Gretzky. Not Orr, Beliveau, Howe. None of them had the talent, the intensity, the will to take over a game like Richard.

Those are the greats in the sport of hockey. Amazing that Richard's name is not remembered like theirs.

I hear a lot about the Native American and Colonial conflicts but seeing that the French had the same conflicts shows how gruesome and difficult the colonization of North America was.

    2. for the sake of the little Indian church which they have there founded.

Amazing that they converted some of the Indians. Having nothing in common and still being able to convert them would have taken a significant amount of effort.

    1. Finally we busied ourselves in revising, or rather in arranging, a Grammar

Language is a difficult barrier to break at times. Trying to bring the Huron a way to learn on their own is a huge step.

    2. show surprising aptitude and willingness to learn the doctrines of the Christian faith; and, through them, many parents have been reached.

Interesting that the kids were the focus and that they would go on to influence the parents. Usually its the other way around. Makes sense though because most adults are not willing to change their ways while a child is much more likely.
