The intention behind this is so that it is harder for the creators audience to determine whether one has bought their followers or not.

I dislike call bots. I specifically dislike it when I'm calling for help and it first goes through a bot. An example of this is some leasing offices. When contacting customer support, nowadays, it is very common that a bot picks up.
