    1. It might be well to remember that written and interpreted historyis, of itself, a historical creation, which arose with the emergence ofruling elites

This reminds me of when people talk about how only people who live are able to talk about it and tell , so that is another example of history being interpreted or being able to be rewritten by whoever’s context it is

After reading this, and seeing how the internet once was, you can really see this shift from going on it to connect with other people to now which is not so much to connect but I would say to show off and compare. It is all ads now targeted at you.

    2. but also offers fertile ground for imagining new activist possibilities at a critical historical moment.

wow! as a member of the LGBTQ community I really enjoyed reading this. It was super cool as the whole article is about to see firsthand accounts because it really shows a different picture in your head. It is super cool seeing this page of a transgender women who's page is something I would have enjoyed interacting with being on the internet before I was even born !

    1. About 71,000 VHS and Betamax cassettes are sitting in boxes, stacked 50-to-a-pallet in the Internet Archive’s physical storage facility in Richmond, California, waiting to be digitized.

that is crazy to think that many pieces of "lost media" is just sitting right their waiting to be digitized and to essentially be found or discovered again

    1. If the “digital” in your DH project isn’t causing discomfort, you’re doing something wrong

This is really something I am beginning to learn in life, as the more discomfort you experience in something when you push yourself to do it, the easier it will be the next times you do it and so on and so forth

I really enjoy reading this quote as I interpreted it as, to be able to gain freedom in this radicalized society, people will have to fight and die to become free from the injustices.

    1. , historians of the future will certainly haveto confront digital sources and the internet when they ana-lyze the past.

I really enjoyed reading this as it really makes you look as never before have we had these types of primary sources, and now we have to include the digital to the scientific journals.

    1. Grades tend to diminish students’ interest in whatever they’re learning.  A “grading orientation” and a “learning orientation” have been shown to be inversely related and, as far as I can tell, every study that has ever investigated the impact on intrinsic motivation of receiving grades (or instructions that emphasize the importance of getting good grades) has found a negative effect.

I can completely relate to this, as when I start to stress out about my grades during finals season or even just during the quarter, I find myself trying to gather as much information to just pass the class and not so much to learn.

This passage shows that , still even with something as simple as homemaking, immigrants will have to work twice as hard to be able to keep up, as the quote shows , there was little to no books or training for the foreign girl who comes here .
