Japan is well-known for
suicides partly because of its feudal samurai warrior tradition of
seppuku, a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment
as a way to uphold one’s honor rather than fall into the hands of
the enemy (Gilhooly, 2011).
This is a great to possible put background information and talk about how suicide has been a part of Japanese culture for a while. And also talk about Japanese history.

“I miss Boston dearly. I worked harder than anybody there….”
This is so sad, and relatable. Music is a constant struggle and you're never going to be perfect but with such a prestigious group you have to be impeccable.

“I want someone to be so brilliant that there’s no question.”
I can understand this, when I was deciding whether i wanted to be a music educator or not a big thing that was pushing me to be one, is casting musicals and plays. I find the process very interesting. Although I know from auditioning it can be mortifying especially is you have a lot on the line such as he does.

-
When I went to a conducting class, every move requires so much thought and precision and I remember just going through the different motions and when we got back to the school we would take turns conducting a piece.
