    1. Outside of my academics, I enjoy powerlifting and being physically active. I started powerlifting during the COVID-19 pandemic and I have since competed both locally and nationally. I believe in the virtue of persistence, perseverance, and discipline

My goodness, when do you find the time?? Writing composition is engaging, as usual.

    1. Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life" by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles explores the concept of ikigai, a Japanese philosophy that translates to "a reason for being" or the source of value in one's life. The book delves into the intersection of what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.

The images of the podcasts and book covers are very appealing! Pops of color always look awesome against black. I feel like the font actually enhances the mystery around them and their content. The fonts and colors are definitely consistent, but kind of fades into the background toward the bottom when the gray comes in. It is still yet legible, so if highlighting the text to make them pop isn't possible, it is possibly okay

    1. In the realm of manufacturing, I got hands-on experience translating theoretical concepts into tangible products. From conceptualization to execution, I learned the art of optimizing processes, reducing inefficiencies, and ensuring that the end result not only met but exceeded industry standards. These experiences in the manufacturing domain ingrained in me a passion for turning ideas into reality and realizing the tangible impact that engineering solutions can have on the world. What sets me apart as an engineering major is not just the technical acumen gained from these projects but the holistic perspective cultivated. I've learned the importance of collaboration, effective communication, and adaptability – skills that are as crucial in a team project as they are in a real-world professional setting.

I always love reading your work, as you have such poetic style! I can see through this essay that you do balancing acts all the time of analyzing engineering and deciphering the night sky, all while never forgetting the common touch! Pop off! Very inspiring:)

    1. people with different understanding of the subject developed my public speaking skills and helped boost my confidence in presentations. The intricacies of asteroid tracking demand critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Engineers honing these skills can navigate complex challenges in

Hey Liz, wonderful description of this incredible project! I can tell you really know your technical skills! I definitely see how these skills made you a more rounded engineer and more knowledgeable astronomer! Two nitpicky notes is that the bright stream of light in the background o this page makes it hard to see the words, so perhaps switching colors here would enhance the visibility. Also, I can see that you make a great effort to bring your vast knowledge down to earth, and one suggestion to make it even more clear is to use smaller/ more common verbs when specifically describing a technical term in a sentence. That way, someone from outside of this profession can latch onto that word and understand the content more quickly. This does go against what we've learned in this class, so feel free to disregard if you feel led!

    1. Check out some of my work from my classes and journalism extracurriculars.

Love how you balanced the order of the written work and the images! It looks soo cool! One note I have is that having red text under the purple text is kind of jarring, but I see that the red does better compliment the page. If you possibly could, perhaps you might see if the top menu could change color depending on which page you have open.

I love how you balanced the colors here and instead of coloring the whole of the webpage, you added just a spark through coloring the text. It defines the theme really well!

    1. The final project in my JOUR 352 class was to turn an existing long story posted on a news website and reimagine the layout with HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. HTML is text code. Each HTML file represents one page. CSS is code that connects with HTML documents. CSS changes how that text is presented with font, font size, color, etc. across all individual web pages on that site. Bootstrap is comprised CSS and JavaScript code for creating easy to use grid systems and responsive design. Website developers can take existing Bootstrap code and build off it. Responsive design involves making changes to make the website more functional on smaller screens like your smart phone or when shrinking your browser tab on computer.

This was a great way of introducing an outside audience to the technical terms. You made them seem more down to earth and familiar to the unfamiliar reader.

    1. I’m proud of how I weaved a few different stories together. I also used my journalism instincts to track down one of Bressler’s aunts by Googling the field hockey program she runs to get an email. I just did not wait for the Sports Information Director to get the email, I found it myself.

I love how you highlight the skills you learned, but how you felt about them too! Your contextual statement shows that not only did you complete this article for a class, but you actually liked what you were doing and were motivated to do so for for your own self! I feel like that deepens the statements you have and makes it more real.
