    1. crackdown

I think shutdown or lockdown would be more apt word to use here (and are more commonly used terms). Crackdown makes it sound like they are fighting against violence or illegal activity.

    2. According to Global News, Canada may have a cure but we do not know that for sure or if they do if they will share it.

Frankly, I don't think this is accurate as is a misreading of the piece. There is no cure, but we can be sure that if any one is discovered by most any country, it would be widely known and reported on. Anything reported now as a 'cure' is undoubtedly unproven and anecdotal.

    3. I am scared weird. I work at a grocery store

I think you should expound on this and describe why you are scared, some of your experiences, how things have changed (such as plexiglass screens) since the start, etc

    1. price of being in a free society.

ARs tend to believe in power based on fear

Womick. "One reason that people may come to endorse views that are associated with antisocial outcomes such as submitting to powerful leaders and derogating people who seem different is because such views can facilitate the feeling that life is meaningful."

    2. We cannot give up these rights, because it is practically impossible to get them back once we sacrifice them.”

Libertarian Left individuals do not put much faith in the law enforcement of a state to respect civil liberties long term, unlike ARs

Taub. "Authoritarians generally...were highly likely to support:

Imposing extra airport checks on passengers who appear to be of Middle Eastern descent in order to curb terrorism

Requiring all citizens to carry a national ID card at all times to show to a police officer on request, to curb terrorism"

    3. you are not only giving up your personal privacy, but also the privacy of your contacts.

Libertarian Left individuals put a high value on the privacy of an individual, and do not trust the state to respect that

Taub. "authoritarians are most willing to want to use force, to crack down on immigration, and limit civil liberties."

    4. precisely measured his tea out

ARs (Authoritarian Right) tend to insist on precision without mistakes

Taub. "authoritarians will seek...a strong leader who promises to suppress the scary changes, if necessary by force, and to preserve the status quo."

    5. because the government won’t be interested in them.”

ARs tend to give a high degree of submission to authorities

Taub. "an outsize fear of threats, physical and social, and, more than that, a desire to meet those threats with severe government action — with policies that are authoritarian not just in style but in actuality. "

    6. “If anyone commits a crime, no matter how small, they need to be punished.

ARs believe the state should focus on punishing criminals, not rehabilitating them.

Nguyyen. "When people become dangerous to others, we restrain them regardless of who they are. Some of their freedoms are taken away from them as punishment by result of their restraint. Ideally, this would force them to reflect on their crime which would ultimately deter them from repeating the offense once they’ve been released"

    7. costing us taxpayers $50,000 for every year they lock someone up.

ARs view this as necessary cost of law and order, while Libertarian Left individuals would view it as government waste

Nguyyen. "It is important for prisoners to understand that they’re in prison because they committed a crime and are there to reform."

    8. military attorney

Being an attorney with its demands to perfection and exactness fits perfectly with an AR

Womick. "In other words, people who said they prefer to follow strong leaders, who insist that people respect traditional values, and who are hostile to people they perceive as different from themselves also said that their lives were more meaningful. "

    9. “The safety of everyone outweighs the privacy of a few people.

ARs give high importance to the protection and security of the state.

Buchanan. "national survival can be considered national selfishness"

    10. they’ll turn off their surveillance.

ARs typically give military and law enforcement high degrees of autonomy and loyalty

Taub, "Authoritarians...were highly likely to support...Allowing the federal government to scan all phone calls for calls to any number linked to terrorism"

    1. I do not think it is anyone's fault for missing these little details because I believe people take a picture to remember the moment not the details.

i liked this linke. most people don't care about the minute dteails and just want to have a memory. but minute details can make the photo more interesting when we see the photo later

    2. I sometimes do not give all my attention because driving to campus becomes second nature.

this is true, sometimes we can go a long time and completely zone out of our driving while thinking about something else

    3. So, to truly pay attention you need to focus and clean your mind. An image can say a lot but its if you are willing to think deeper.

very peaceful way of thinking. we could all relax more if we thought like this

    4. I know today's society is all about speed but sometimes it is good to slow down and notice all the perfections and flaws in your everyday world.

we tend to miss the small beautiful things when we race through life

    1. it is weird how when I first moved into the house the floors were so squeaky and so annoying eventually what I noticed is I don't hear that anymore I feel like the strange things what I found amusing starts to blend in with the house making me not noticing them anymore.

we get so familiarized that we get desensitized to things that other people might instantly notice

    2. At the beginning of each new episode of our lives, we look at the things with eyes full of excitement, passion, and amazement we look at things closely with an open heart with happy feelings.

super relatable, it's often like this for me

    1. everything in life in a positive and good light and just ignoring the “flaws” or “errors” in my life.

This is how we interpret things from a beauty point of view, but behind it there are often flaws and errors

    2. That’s why our eyes miss a lot of things because of two reasons, the eyes have a mask in front of them and the reason behind the mask is because the eyes don’t bother or just want to see everything in an ideal light or in a certain way.

Our eyes trick us and don't let us see the unfamiliar things

    3. A truly powerful thing that photographs can do is make what was invisible to the eye visible.

They help broaden our thoughts and make us see things in a different perspective

    4. One’s eyes just adapt to the overall look of a place, ignores the details, and saves that overall view of a place into memory.

We tend to get familiarized with the things we want to see and miss the bigger picture

    1. Nate was really excited to see the customers happy and his customer base started to build

It's great to see his dreams became a reality after initially struggling

    2. His father was really disappointed but his mother told him to just follow his dream and do whatever makes him happy,

Any parent would likely feel similar, but sometimes we need to know what we are better attuned for. It was good to know his mother supported his decision though

    1. “My sister is amazing, she’s a hard worker, selfless, and just simply amazing,

This shows how we can have a positive effect on others. This reveals the true character of the interviewee, as it shows that they are putting others over themselves, being selfless.

    2. The teacher explained how even though Yara was throwing up every five minutes, Yara still got the highest grade on the test in the entire grade.

This just shows to prove that one should always have their goals in mind, and not give up on them even though one has a perfectly valid reason to do so. Striving for that even in the face of trouble gives us a reason to get up every day, and keeps our resilience strong

    3. Yara’s little sister watched all this happen and was so excited about what her older sister did and was just jumping around and telling the story to her mom because she was so happy and proud of her sister.

The proudness one can feel for a sibling, I can fully understand that, as she didn't give up, and we feel that we played a small role in helping them obtain that goal

    1. a photograph can be treated as a narrowly selective transparency

perhaps in today's photos, this means editing, highlights, filtering, things like that

    2. Don't let any image determine who you are as a person in a negative way by comparing yourself to others.

though often we are too self conscious about what the world will think about us in a photo
