A swarm of women sentinels to man the walls without. WOMEN So then we scare you, do we? Do we seem a fearful host?
I favor these lines in this story because of their metaphorical hold. In this scenario the women are guarding Acropolis, and the men are making snide remarks. The men's insecurity shows by diminishing the women's ability to protect the city. Also a sense of irony in the men saying "to man the walls," because man can also mean guard, but the women are the ones guarding it.
