    1. It’s respectful, with each person listening and accepting what the other person is saying. It’s collaborative, with each person contributing knowledge to the conversation. It’s grounded in design rationale and design judgement, focusing on why choices are made and why different choices were made, and how that might effect the success of the solution.

I really agree with what this paragraph is saying. I used to do a lot of art/design work, and critique is part of the most gone through stage but at the same time, I always find it really hard. We all have different thought process and how we approach problem is different. Critique is meant to be a little negative but at the same we always try to keep it positive by complimenting the good part of the idea and then add the potiential area of improvement. So it is like a collaborative work between people to come out with the best possible idea.

    1. The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas.

I can relate to this quote a lot. I worked on design quite a lot before, and I believe that having as many ideas as possible really helps me to bring the best result to the client. I think this is because sometimes the client also does not know what they want and having a lot of ideas can sastically bring a higher chance of meeting their needs and expectations. So I usually try my best to come out as many ideas as possible.

    1. Even in a community, everyone is different: coming to agreement on who is being served, why they are being served, and what one believes is causing the problem, and how it impacts a particular group, is key to focusing design efforts.

I agree to what it says about everyone is different. This is not my first time learning/doing about design. I definitely always find making lots of persona, scenario helpful in forming the best design possible. I do feel that when solving the same problem but for different people can result in different design solution because they might have different life perception, they might have different standard in what is good. Sometimes when I think the design solution is good for my client but it could turn out we have different standard for the design solution. I think the word design is so subjective that you can't always a definate answer.

    1. If you’re clever, perhaps you can find a design that’s useful to a large, diverse group. But design will always require you to make a value judgement about who does and who does not deserve your design help.

I like how it says making a value judgement about who does and who does not deserve your design help. I think all the design is meaningful to at least one group in the universe. And from my own experience in design, I learned that there is no perfect design. I can always find something to critique on in a design but I think what a designer can do is to have a "perfect" solution for a problem at the given time, needs, supplies.
