    1. The wise one, they stay patient: not too heart-heated, not so hasty to harp, not too weak-armed, nor too wan-headed, nor too fearful nor too fey nor too fee-felching,

my interpretation of this is that those who are wise patiently wait for death. the others who are hot heated, fuelled by passion , or weak mined start conflicts, (like war) later mentioned in the poem. I feel the narrator is advising against that type of violence. This poem was written at a time where there seemed to be tension and conflict with territory.

the continuous use of the word winter feels like this word could symbolise death in the context of this poem. Winter very often in literature is a symbol of death and dying.

    4. “So heavy and heavier the hurt in heart harrowing for the lost.

previously I stated that I thought this poem could be about finding a safe space, but now I feel like it could be about grief, overcoming it and acceptance of death and mortality.

    5. who knows of my kind, willing to adopt a friendless me, though they be joyful enough.

    6. roiling heart

I like the use of the term "roiling" here, which would mean to cause disturbance (specifically in liquid) I think the idea of the "heart" not being something solid but something that flows like water and can be disturbed is interesting.
