    1. Furthermore, the fact that different people have different past experiences—and thus that their schemas and attitudes are different—helps explain why different people draw different conclusions about the same events.

This is a good fact to know because this is also why when people need advice from others about the same topic but just a different opinion it comes from their schemas. By everyone's schemas being different it proves that everyone's opinions are different even if they did go through the same event. It also helps form a perspective on the event through their eyes or their schemas

    2. We may dislike people from certain racial or ethnic groups because we frequently see them portrayed in the media as associated with violence, drug use, or terrorism. And we may avoid people with certain physical characteristics simply because they remind us of other people we do not like.

As it goes for associational learning through the unjustified racial prejudices, I feel television also has an impact on this because some movies or shows will paint a character of color to be a stereotypical role to prove a point to viewers which makes people of the opposite color think about how that is true for tht race since it's a stereotype.

    3. Recently, the U.S. government created new negative and graphic images to place on cigarette packs in order to increase an association between negative responses and cigarettes. The idea is that when we see a cigarette and the fear of dying is associated with it, we will be less likely to light up.

When cigarettes or smoking in general is being promoted as a negative picture opposed to a positive influence such as it can relax people or 'take the edge off,' instead viewers are watching the negative ad and getting worried they will die from lung cancer or a disease if they keep inserting such a toxic item into their body which creates the influence the ad was supposed to give which is not to buy them.

    1. Although our biological makeup prepares us to be human beings, it is important to remember that our genes do not really determine who we are. Rather, genes provide us with our human characteristics, and these characteristics give us the tendency to behave in a “human” way.

This statement is very true, because genes overall lead us in a certain direction of being almost influenced but at the end of the day. Our family's history of how we are made influences us to culture and biology but on the other hand the environment and society influences us to create a voice for ourselves that comes along with personality and how you want to behave around certain individuals.

    2. Behavior = f (person, social situation). Lewin’s equation indicates that the behavior of a given person at any given time is a function of (depends on) both the characteristics of the person and the influence of the social situation.

I personally think we use this equation in today's world by social media being the biggest factor, such as for example there is a trend going around and the user sees their friend post a video doing it, so now they feel comfortable with posting it since someone they know did it. Another example would be maybe for example school, you are scared to show your true style because it's unique but then you see another classmate of yours wear their true style so now you feel comfortable with doing it since that behavior was established prior.

    1. Human beings exchange goods, services, and other benefits with other people in the process of social exchange

Social exchange can benefit humans by building connections that come with trust and stabilization. The moral or goal of having connections with other humans is to keep a stable relationship with another without expecting anything out of it but support.

    2. Social psychology concerns the interplay between the individual person and the social situation. The social situation refers to the other people we interact with every day. The key aspect of the social situation is that the people around us produce social influence, or the processes through which other people change our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and through which we change theirs

Individuals behavior doesn't just come from within them, it comes from a combination of society and what expierences a person has been through which create a certain behavior to react to situations in social norms. Through talking with people surrounding you on a day to day basis whether it's work or school those peoples opinions help create and impact our voice.

    1. Our common sense also leads us to believe that we know why we engage in the behaviors that we engage in, when in fact we may not.

I find similarity in this statement because I do believe that actions we commit come naturally to our brain without any reaction response since it seems logical to us. Although our actions may have not been just made because of our behavior or what we were feeling. It might have been other factors that played into making the decision to commit this action, such as coming from a place within where we had expeirence with this before such as out of habit or even just to agree with others surrounding you.
