      to document history one should have facts not theories, is this supposed to be in reference to the history of the victorian era or to specific works of the time?

      the tone here and in the previous sentence surely has to be opinionated, at least slightly. the entire feel is twinged with emotional distaste. feels like opinion not exactly factual. vehement almost.
