    1. Now, along with my students, I'm working to enjoy my life without my phone a bit more.

I'm curious if the author would do a follow up article on how this processed worked. Also to see if students use their phones less in class and are learning more. I also thought this article at the end was the more interesting because it got me thinking of what I can do in my classroom to have some phone use and more learning.

    2. Some of my fellow teachers and administrators say that students need to learn how to effectively manage their phones in the classroom on their own

I feel this is the best sentence that the author had. Why I think that is because I feel teachers and myself need to know how to let students use their phones in the classroom along with learning at the same time.

    3. . According to Jeffrey Kuznekoff, who conducted a study on phone use by college students, "You're putting yourself at a disadvantage when you are actively engaged with your mobile device in class and not engaged in what's going on."

I feel this is so true because if students are focused on their phones they aren't listening to what is happening in the classroom at all. They are also being disrespectful to the teacher who is trying to teach their students something new. When a student is in my classroom their eyes need to be on my when I am teaching. Their phones will be put away. If there is a huge emergency their families can call the school and they can talk to them then.

    4. Most importantly, phones allow students to communicate with one another and with experts in fields of interest. The question remains, however, whether the use of cell phones in school outweighs the distraction they cause.

I agree with this statement that its good for students to communicate through text. But it is also important for them to communicate through actually talking too. If students are only using their phones to communicate they will not have those social skills to be able to commuicate with others.

    5. Most schools allow students to have cell phones for safety, which seems unlikely to change as long as school shootings remain a common occurrence

I feel this is another main point of this article. It is important that students need their phone to feel safe incase of a school shooting that is happening and they need to call 911. I feel this is ok for them to have their cell phones on them but not on them when the teacher is teaching class.

    6. Because of this, teachers need practical and enforceable strategies for dealing with phones in their classrooms.

I agree with this because there are a lot of teacher out there that are trying to find solutions so students are not on there phone all the time in the classroom.

    7. There's no bigger classroom distraction than a student using a phone.

I feel this is so true because students I feel that are older are always looking at their phones even when they aren't in the classroom. The classroom is for learning and not texting people back and forth. This is going to be the main thing about this article. It will talk about the good, that bad, and the solution to fix this problem in the classroom.
