I was able to study his theory a little bit in my Western Civ class last year! It was interesting to see the different phases of complex stages he said humans go through, as well as his theories on the ego, super ego, and the id.

this entire paragraph was interesting to read when looking back at the thread on Twist- a lot of what you've all said what that you are a people pleaser and to see that this has always been the case enforces the idea that humanity won't escape from that cycle anytime soon.

This is only the first sentence, but it's interesting how there is already a distinction being made between the two parts of the self. This reminds me of a poem I read in my AP Spanish Lit class by author/poet Jorge Borges (I believe).
