    1. t is easy to underline so much that the notations become almost meaningless because you for-get why you underlined the passages in the first place

      Yea once you underline so much notations that's really not important you start forgetting what you really underlined

    2. To g e t t h e m o s t o u t o f y o u r reading, follow the five steps of the reading process. 1. Prepare yourself to read the selection. 2. Read the selection. 3. Reread the selection. 4. Annotate the text with marginal notes. 5. Analyze the text with questions.

      When i be reading i didn't have a reading process i'll just read & find what the reading was about so i feel good knowing i have a reading process now

    3. After all, we all know how to read. But do we know how to read actively?

      I was lacking this in elementary i used to be reading passages & words but not actually knowing what it's saying

    1. Late work may be accepted with a request for extension which was submitted up to 48 hours before the due date.

      Now i feel more comfortable in this class knowing if i forget or get too busy i still have 48 hours to turn in late work.

    3. In this course I need you to be brave. You will read things that may make you uncomfortable. You will discuss difficult topics. This will stretch the boundaries of what you may think you are capable of to new levels.

      I like that we will be writing about topics that make me uncomfortable because i feel like when i'm uncomfortable i get deep in the topic more.

    4. The goal is to give you tools to create your own path towards a unique relationship with writing.

      This is my goal i want tools & help me with my relationship with writing because at first i didn't like writing but as i learn more about it i"m starting to love it

    1. Based on my experience working with students from first-year through graduate school, I firmly believe thatstudents value good writing and are more eager to improve their writing skills than most instructors realize.

      I believe that once students get the concept of writing they would love it

    2. Why is this third threshold concept so important?

      It is important because if people doesn't understand the writing they won't be able to produce what they are saying about the writing

    3. Human beings have been talking to one another for nearly 200,000 years, but thesame is not true for writing, which does not come automatically. Not all languages even have written versions, sowhen we write, we are going against our inherent human mechanisms. We have to develop practices that deliber-ately enable composing because it does not just happen spontaneously.

      This is so true because some people don't know the same language they cant even write it out because there are know written versions in there languages

    4. In 2012-2014, a cohort of writing teachers and administrators convened over the course of three summers aspart of the Elon University Seminar on Writing Transfer.
