    1. Many people who live in states or countries that ban all forms of assisted dying believe that it is moral and should be legally permitted, while many who live in places where the law allows it believe that it is wrong and should be banned.

I feel like this is a huge red flag. If people who live in a country where it is legal and want it to be banned. that probably means it does more harm then good. I would trust the opinions of people who have experienced it in their country rather then those who are just assuming that it will be better.

    2. Is there a moral difference between allowing a person to die and killing that person, if the intentions behind the actions are the same?

This reminds me of the train situation from class. Where is was more moral to kill someone or let someone die as long as you had the right intentions. In the situation I would say that they are basically the same. Your intention is to end their suffering and not to just kill them. In either case, if they some how got better or killing them failed, you would be happy for them. Both methods have the same outcomes.

    1. We arewilling to expose ourselves—not onlyour bodies, but often certain intimatedetails of our lives—to this relativestrange

It is weird to think about how your physician might know more about you than your own family or friends. That is something that I just accepted and didn't think about. When it is said like this, it makes me want to take a step back and think about what I'm actually doing.

    2. It is a matter not only ofthe mind and hand but also of theheart, not only of intellect and skillbut also of character. For it is only asa member of a community and as abeing willing and able to devote him¬self to others and to serve somehigher good that a man makes apublic confession of his way of life.

I feel like this quote is very extreme when it talks about how devoted to your profession you have to be. Although I can understand how with something like medicine this is very important. If you didn't have your heart and character into it. you would not be helping your patient to the best of your abilities.

    3. "the course, manner, or way of life; a regular orhabitual course of action." From hereone can see how "trade" could come tomean a habitual occupation

After reading this I can definitely see why you wouldn't want to call physicians a trade. You wouldn't want to someone who is taking care of you to just be going through the motions, doing the same thing that they did the day before. I feel like jobs that have a lot of changes and surprises should be called professions while jobs that tend to stay the same everyday can be called trades.
