Well done Spencer, nothing to edit or critique--you've got this and I'm sure your LinkedIn profile will evolve as you move ahead in what I know will be a fabulous career!
From photographing northern pygmy-owls on the mountainsides of Vancouver Island (see cover photo above) to writing long-form articles on harm reduction (see publications below), I have a wide range of skills and experience.I've managed and edited a nationally distributed literary magazine, written content and produced videos for non-profits, and published my writing extensively (including in Maclean's, The Malahat Review, Prairie Fire, and The Puritan). I currently lead Special Projects at Island Crisis Care Society, a non-profit that provides housing to people in crisis, and operate Birds and Bark, a wildlife photography business.
Spencer, you might put out there what you are doing for your internship. There might be someone who has something to offer or share with you. You don't have, just a suggestion.
As a part of my ongoing studies, I am participating in an internship program, and am actively seeking a work placement in a field related to philosophy.
Terrific, you could build it out a bit more and add some specific areas you might be interested in pursing or areas of work you would be able to contribute.
About Me
Well done, excellent work Ian. I appreciate that you do not appreciate images and that is fine and actually aligns with the work I have read and reviewed throughout your ePortfolio. I have mentioned where I think you might highlight, bold, add colour for contrast purposed but otherwise, I'm pleased with what you have produced.
Literacies
WOW and colour! This is excellent Ian. Impressive work and admirable commitment.
I have set several goals for myself, both short term and longer term. I find it helpful to break big goals into smaller, more measurable pieces that build towards a higher plan.
Without a doubt, you have tremendous goals and will I believe surpass even what you imagine for yourself! When you migrate this ePortfolio consider adding some interest by bolding, adding colour and highlighting.
References
You can leave this off and in some cases the job posting will ask you to submit references so it becomes redundant.
I am a fu
Never start with I - write bio style in third person for the objective.
Resume
I think it is difficult within VIU's WordPress to format but going forward it would be worth the time to format. For example, the Objective section needs more work and you don't need to title it RESUME we are on the resume page, you might do some bolding of titles-subtitles etc.
Outside of work and my school commitments, I have less time than I would like to be able to contribute to my community, so my engagement has been more limited to simple things like contributing to bottle drives for a local U-13 lacrosse team, or helping with teaching with a few local cadet groups.
These are not "simple" it is wonderful! I have no doubt you will engage further in your community as time and space allows.
Signature Assignments
Ian, I of course, wanted to read your assignments which I did and they are terrific! However, can you, if you are going to use this site, and even if you are not, make sure you go move backwards -- create a link like you did on the About Me page because otherwise the reader (me!) has to reload your ePortfolio link to continue on reviewing.
Back to About Me
This is a handy link and offers the reviewer an easy method to navigate your site.
self-reflection tool like this, I think I’m in a good place.
Excellent observation. The ePortfolio is both a tool for iterative reflection and a place to market and brand your skills/abilities/talents etc.
I'm a recent graduate of the Creative Writing BA from Vancouver Island University, where I focused on the writing and editing of short fiction, through regular submissions, with a peer review process. While I am enhancing my communication skills through my work at Shaw, I am highly motivated to break out into the publishing, writing, and editing industries. My focus remains on young adult fiction, particularly within the LGBTQ community.
Good start Mel, keep updating and adding to your profile because I believe it a valuable tool for employers and others in your field of study to connect with you.
urrently attending Vancouver Island University and will graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Creative Writing, with a focus on fiction, editorial and publishing. My education has included three counts of professional editorial training, and four counts of fiction and creative non-fiction publishing. In 2015, Broatch started her degree at Vancouver Island University. Since she has worked as a Fiction Editor for Portal (2017/18) and is the Managing Editor this year (2018/2019). She is also the Features Editor for The Navigator Student Press, which celebrates its 50th year in print in 2019. Her fiction has appeared in Portal's 2018 issue; her nonfiction has appeared in the online magazine Incline, and is routinely in The Nav.Broatch lives in Nanaimo, in an apartment next to the water, with her fish Elvis.
Caileigh, do you want potential employers to look at your profile or, because you are continuing with education are you purposefully leaving it broad in tone? The content is great either way!

About Me and Contact
Well done, Brooklynn. Your essence in on each page and I enjoyed reviewing and commenting.
I’m also on the search for a fun and quirky cook book to cook my way through, so if you have any suggestions drop me a line through my contacts page!
Design and write it Brooklynn! Wonderful goals and I know without a doubt you will achieve these and more.

No critique--incredible work! If you use this WordPress site for a while see if you can fix it so when someone, as I did, reads your assignments they can move back to to your ePortfolio, there is something funky happening.

Good!
Professional Philosophy
This is good and maybe add in a general way even, what sorts of work/service you hope to focus on in your career.

You will likely not have this Home page -- when you migrate your webpage--bringing it to your attention, because it is sticking out for me :) The About Me and Contact cover nicely.
About Me and Contact
Brooklynn, great! I get a sense of your style and skill and talent immediately.
From photographing northern pygmy-owls on the mountainsides of Vancouver Island (see cover photo above) to writing long-form articles on addiction (see publications below), I have a wide range of skills and experience.
Spencer, you don't have to and likely you have already considered--but is it worth mentioning what your goals are?
About Me
Spencer, your work on this ePortfolio is excellent. Your talent is obvious and extraordinarily poignant. Well done.
Designed
If this is current work, use current tense...you might need to rewrite in a full skill statement task, action and result. Check tense structure throughout your resume.
I’ve sharpened my creative thinking by reimagining assignments.
This is brilliant! You are a talent Spencer.
Harm reduction: Keeping substance users safe
I wonder if any family is not in some way, touched by substance abuse. Gary Zukov in The Seat of the Soul writes When you deal with an addiction, you deal directly with the healing of your soul.
Professional Statement
Spencer, this is a magnificent story!
About Me
Ah, Caileigh well done! Such life imbued on these pages. I think you will move this ePortfolio to a site that you can do more with--I hope so, because the theme doesn't align with the richness and character and craft displayed in your work.
n sit on a log and cry
This post reminds me of the book, Soul Is Here For Its Own Joy-Robert Bly. I think I understand Caileigh. Such a creative and captivating way to share a little about who you are!

You tell me, the wanna be author if this should be written out--following the rule under the numeral 10?
VIU Graduate Attributes Literacies: Reading engages, situates, and analyzes a text in order to comprehend and make meaning. Readers learn to understand how texts are culturally and historically situated, to interpret using a range of genres, and to appreciate that there are different ways to approach a text. Here is a sample of a review series I had attempted to create. Due to a lack of time, discipline and Good Reads, it hasn’t carried on. However The Elegance of the Hedgehog was one of the first reviews I had written, and it was written because of a conversation in the class it was assigned in. Being my second year, I had read it and immediately made judgments based on taste. What the discussion taught me, however, was the vast ways that a book can be read. Written Communication is the use of writing to organize perspectives, knowledge, thoughts, ideas, and information and to present them in a clear and effective manner. Adept writers are able to negotiate different genres and situations. During my education at VIU, I have developed skills in many genres of writing: horror, romance, mystery, young adult, memoir, and flash fiction. While I am most comfortable with the long, overdrawn sentencing of literary fiction I enjoy dabbling in flash fiction as it gives the writer an opportunity to do away with the conventions that are ingrained in us. “Premature” is a story that was conceived for a short fiction class, and include it because as I read it I recall how much fun it was to write and how afterward, it completely shifted my appreciation for short fiction. I think that it was the beginning of my absolute love for the short form. Flash Fiction Intellectual and Practical Skills: Creative Thinking occurs when established approaches are reimagined in order to arrive at a new way to represent or understand a subject. Creative thinking is characterized by a solid grasp of established practices within a field of study, by use of imagination and synthesis, and through initiative and risk-taking. Editing Exersize My experience as a fiction editor has forced me into realizing the many ways to tell a story, and the structures it can take on. As a practice, when editing new pieces, I theorize ways that structure and form can be played with. Rearranging chronologically could make it stronger; a perspective change could be more emotionally charged; withholding information could make the reveal more poignant. Of course, it is rarely ever needed as the author’s know what works for their story best. However, the exercise has transferred into my own writing: playing with time, perspective, and truth. Above is an example of a short story that was edited to adjust the chronological order of events. It is experimental in nature and challenges structure.
Great work!
Social Media
Caileigh, did you say that you use your social media for different things--if so, or even if not, maybe say a little something beside each groovy symbol.
(if you were unaware, we don’t have whales in northern Alberta)
The perfectly placed bit of humour is lovely and helps the reviewer get a glimpse of your good character.
Class members’ blogs, photos, and bios.
If you are keen to make your resume a bit stronger, use skill statements to describe tasks, actions and outcomes.
Organizing
Use past tense on those postions that are past :)
I’m unsure if I believe in such things, but if I were too it would only make sense for me to live up to it. A Ceilidh, a gathering of people that would result in stories, and dancing, and singing. As a result, it’s a personal pleasure when I come across writing that borders oral tradition. The history and the importance of tradition excites me.
Oh, yes! I do believe. The myth and archetype you have described here will dance and sing and provide you access to your golden pen, which will take you far in your career!
If I were able to create a future in a magical ball, it would be one filled with red pens and illustrated indie magazines. One that is dedicated to guiding first-time authors through the editing process and into publication. There is an appetite in the community, I think, to reflect different kinds of existence. Narratives that are achievable through brightly colored paintings and drawings and prose dripped with enchanting emotion.
Absolutely beautiful writting, and the kindness of expression of service to "first-time authors" is touching.
(Warning: I’m a bit of a mouth-breather)
I'm just starting the review of your ePortfolio and already enjoying the process-your writing is a joy to engage with!
About Me
Great. I like how you have written your About Me in Bio form--it will come in handy for you.
About Me
Is the banner something you love or feel connected to--I somehow do not connect it to you and the work you have done on your webpage, could just be me?!
Goals and Next Steps
WOW amazing goals for which I know you will accomplish these and more! Mel, you might consider writing a reflective peice here (somewhere) on your webpage about your internship once you have completed it.

Professional Philosophy Statement
Great. Clear and concise.

About Me
Terrific start on your webpage Jesse! Well done. I know you will continue to develop your site as you move along on your career trajectory.

Will the reader know what YA is..I don't so it might be good to spell out, if it is a spell out thing? Bixby Edits, love it!
Resume
Jesse, I think your resume could use some work around format. The circle bullets are aesthetically jarring -- and the white space makes your plethora of experience/skills/compentencies appear smaller than they are.
My Letter from the Editor that was published in the 2018 edition of Portal is an example of this attribute:
Is there a way to embed this so that it is larger-it is too good to have to squint to read :)
Sample Work
Clean and elegant.
I also want authors and creators to succeed when they ask me to edit their work — making others proud of their stories is something I pride myself of.
Beautiful statement and demonstrates your desire to be of service. Great!

3rd year Creative Writing major and Sociology minor at Vancouver Island University. Through my work, I consider myself an emerging disability activist driven by the need for justice and equity of all disabled people.
Sarah, say a little more here. You have a ton of experience, skills and knowledge-have the profile give the viewer a hint of your style and personality.
A lot of things have happened in my life since the first time I celebrated IDPWD two years ago. I started to tell more people that I’m……
Sarah, might you consider having a cover page that invites the reader in and tells them what they will find on your webpage and how to navigate the site so that folks who are looking for something specific can go straight to the tab.
Goals
Sarah, you might consider, just an offering, to use this page to post a reflection on your internship and the learning. If you did, it would tie nicely into the VIU Graduate Attributes.
VIU Graduate Attributes
Such a nifty way to post about the VIU Graduate Attributes-I am not sure you will keep them on your site, still.
If you take anything away from today, let it be this: Educate yourselves. Assess your abled privilege. Google something about Disability. Anything. Read it. Myself and many people I know in the community are tired. Google it yourselves for once.
You are courageous, Sarah. I've learned more than I ever knew before about some of the challenges of disability, and appreciate the authenticity and rarely shared vulnerability you express. Thank you.
About Me
Sarah, you have done a beautiful job of your ePortfolio/webpage. I am sure it will evolve as you develop and move along in your career. Well done. Thank you for putting your best efforts into this assignment. Micki
