The “Customer Service” button is large and clearly labeled, but it’s important that it can also be accessed using a keyboard. Many users with motor impairments rely on keyboard navigation. Ensuring the button is fully operable without a mouse supports better accessibility.

      POUR Principle: Robust

The subway and surface route service updates rely heavily on color coding to show status. This creates barriers for users with color blindness or those using screen readers. Adding text labels or icons alongside the color codes would make the service info more accessible and inclusive.

    3. Partial Line 2 closure on Saturday and Sunday

      POUR Principle: Perceivable

The text over the banner image could be hard to read depending on screen brightness and may not be accessible to screen readers unless it’s coded correctly. Important announcements should be provided in plain text or with proper alt text to ensure all users can access the info.

    4. Subway service on Line 1 between Sheppard-Yonge and College stations will be replaced by shuttle buses starting at 11 p.m. nightly, until the end of service at approximately 2 a.m., on Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16 for planned track work. TTC staff will be available to assist customers. See other service alerts.Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: This weekend, there will be no subway service between Broadview and Woodbine stations due to planned track work. Shuttle buses will operate.

      POUR Principle: Perceivable

The yellow alert banner at the top of the page uses small black text on a bright background. This could be difficult for users with low vision to read. Increasing the font size or choosing a higher contrast color scheme would help improve readability.

    5. Routes & schedules Fares & passes Service advisories Customer service More

      POUR Principles: Understandable & Perceivable

The navigation bar contains a lot of closely spaced links that aren’t clearly grouped or labeled. This can make it harder for users with cognitive disabilities or screen readers to understand where each section leads. The white text on a bright red background also reduces readability due to low contrast. Grouping the links and improving contrast would make this section easier to navigate for more users.
