    2. As you learn to spot key signs of information that will not serve to enhance your credibility and contribute to your document

Things I usually look for when making sure a site or resource is credible is things like an address where something can be located, how organized the website is and other attributes that just make me believe it is a credible human behind it.

    3. Therefore, it is always important to look beyond the surface of a site to assess who sponsors it, where the information displayed came from, and whether the site owner has a certain agenda.

    1. By mirroring the employer’s language and submitting your application documents in accord with their instructions, you convey a spirit of cooperation and an understanding of how to follow instructions.

My dad informed me of this as well. He told me, depending on who and where the resume is going and intended for, it is smart to mold it to what the employer or person is looking for and meet their expectations doing so.

    2. They expect it to be clear, accurate, and up to date

Keeping it up to date is something I often forget to do! I did not have an on-hand resume up until a few weeks ago shockingly. I feel much more comfortable having one now that is ready to be used at any time!

    3. A résumé will represent your skills, education, and experience in your absence. Businesses increasingly scan résumés into searchable databases.

I really enjoyed reading this article; the only knowledge I have about building my resume and creating my resume comes from my father. Having additional information like this really helps to gain different persepctives and information as to how to go about it.

    4. Key Word Section

I never knew that this was something that could be included on resumes! I guess mine is currently not large enough to need a key section, but when the time comes that it is it is nice to know!

    5. so never post anything you wouldn’t want your employer (current or future) to read, see, or hear

This is a problem I believe our generation really faces. Social media was not exactly relevant prior to 2000's and so generations prior to use entering into the workforce and their own careers did not have to worry or think about if what they have put out onto the internet will later come back to bite them in the butt. With this being said, I believe it is very important to make sure if you do participate in social media that you only post what you want people to see, not just one specific person, etc.

    1. Similarly, writing that is easy to read is not the same as “dumbed down” or simplistic writing

It is very nice to read this! I often thing writings I do that do not include "big" words might be viewed as dumbed down or too simple to be respected.

    2. You want to make a good first impression on your friends and family, instructors, and employer.

This reminds me of how it was when you were in grade school and even high school and you would make sure to plan ahead as to what you were going to wear on the first day of school. The goal was often to make a good impression on your peers and teachers. The same principles can be applied to when you are older and entering into a more professional first day/first meeting as well!

    3. Take a look at your clothes

I believe physical appearance and how you portray yourself to others does have an impact on how you are treated and how much respect you recieve from others. Sometimes you may not want to believe this is true but it is important to realize that judgement based off of appearance is important and relevant.
