It’s important to have a critique of the myth of romance that looks at how damaging it is to us in our personal lives, and how it is designed to fuel social arrangements, codified in law, that were invented to subordinate women and make them the property of men.
Would this be the resolution/why it matters?
I see people consistently resisting the “common sense” of monogamy just as we resist the “common sense” we inherit about race, class, gender and sexuality in our culture.
