    1. Secure Wireless Networks Do you have an Internet connection at home? If so, you most likely have a secure wireless network. Protected by passwords, secure wireless networks are the best kind to use when accessing and sharing sensitive information like: banking and payment details, your SIN (social insurance number), and any other information you’d like to keep private and protected.

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! I was just reading an article the other day that described how much information can be taken simply from your WIFI. It is scary! What is truly terrifying is I have heard stories of parents who have discovered that their child was being watched and talked to through a nanny cam that connect to the WIFI. I am not sure if those WIFIs had passwords or not, but if they did I wonder how we can ensure WIFI systems to be less prone to being hacked. It just makes me feel like we are not even safe in our homes.

    2. Two-factor authentication, or two-step authentication, is a login process where the user is asked to provide two authentication points, such as a password and a code shared through a text message. Two-factor authentication enhances login security.

Two-factor authentication is such a blessing sometimes! It can be a little annoying because it takes more time to access sites but it is so worth it by protecting your information. The only downside is the trouble you may have to go through if you cannot remember your password, safeword, etc.

I think that teens, young adults, and even children are not taught what exactly they can and cannot do regarding the internet. People should know that some of these things are actually illegal and can get in trouble for doing them.
