    1. Digital badges: validated indicators of accomplishment, skill, quality, or interest that can be earned; badges are a visual, short-term reward for completing an action, given to users for performing a certain number of actions of a given type

When I think about badges, I immediately think of my workplace. Every year we hand out different "badges" (Best Instagram, Best Facebook Page, Best Office Decoration) Some are just for fun, but they really do create a more connected community and push all the agents to do their best.

    1. Right now, Snap says users are scanning upwards of 8 million codes a day. And that's with Snapcodes only doing a few things: unlock filters and lenses, open websites, add friends.

This is just an amazing number to me. Snapchat now incorporates specific scannable filters, as well as a music matching feature to tell you which song you are listening to. Adding people on snapchat has never been easier, and you can open websites right from a sent snap.

    2. "When you scan a Snapcode you're going to get a lens that you normally wouldn't get," Ouimet says. "The lenses are like the ultimate candy to unlock." Scan the code on the jumbotron at the football game, get the lens for that specific game. Scan the one on your Dr. Pepper, and you too can become Larry Culpepper, the visor-wearing, soda-serving star of the company's commercials.

This is a very interesting topic. Most college students use Snapchat on a regular basis, but are not aware how much data they are collecting or how much information that they get you to take in.
