Renewable assignments provide a promising opportunity for students to create valuable work that can be freely shared, used, and adapted by others.
Personally, this article is evidence that renewable assignments are a way to provide opportunities for experiential learning and incorporate use of other skills that might not be obviously aligned with course content. I think they take presurre off instructors as well
