      Having recently completed the college application process, I have caught myself numerous times writing these redundant and superfluous phrases. In a professional environment, the incessant need to be seen as intelligent is an ironic and heartbreaking tragedy.

      Its interesting that he does not say that they are not intelligent people, just that they cannot properly express their thoughts with the language available to them. This lends itself to a certain loneliness and alienation of individuals who lack this ability.

      Interesting concept: Do we control language with our minds and it changes as we wish it to, or is language simply natural and its evolution is beyond our control?

      This reminds me of something my religious studies professor said: "No one wants to admit it, but all major world religions share 90% of the same beliefs and morals, and everyone focuses on the 10%, which are mostly culturally influenced details."

    2. We don’t often see or hear each other and when we do

      Increasingly, I have caught myself deleting friends/followers on social media whose political views I don't agree with. I have found this lends itself to the gap between political parties and refusal to listen/be around people of other political beliefs, but how can I read posts that just make me angry and sad? In this very politically charged era, I am sure I am not the only one who has run into this conundrum.
