    1. My generation may be, in contrast

I am not sure how i feel about comparing generations, as each one is different and does not have a 1:1 comparison available. Instead of older generations looking at young-ins as lazy, and young-ins looking at elders as traditional and not changing, we can all look at each others, as benefactors of life. ALL choosing to create our own path with each one begin given a break because we are all humans, and try our best each day.

    1. Unable to rid traveling from my mind, instead of an engagement ring on my finger, I put a passport in my hand

I can relate to this as I've always had that itch that can only be scratched by traveling the world. However getting married has not crossed my mind. I am looking to study abroad in the coming years and until now had only though about doing it once, but after reading this i may have to go multiple times.

    1. You can’t improve if you think you’re perfect

I've struggled with this as i've always tried to be perfect my whole life and have only learned through others and experience that there is no such thing as perfect. Additionally, i've found that being perfect is described by everyone as something different so there no reason to look at others view of perfection as it is not your own, and to you will not be perfect. Just be yourself and do want you believe is perfect or as close as possible and you will be perfect in your own eyes, and that's all that matters.

    1. Even though it was painful and embarrassing at the time, instead of letting that experience get me down, I tried to use it as an opportunity to reset my intentions and my mindset

I like this mindset as it takes something that in the long run probably doesn't matter too much and using it to propel yourself to a better future is beneficial to present and future success. Especially the last sentence resetting your mindset and intentions keeps my thinking about how every once on while you need a reset and they are good things and much as it sounds like a negative.

    1. When I thought I was learning calculus, I was learning to learn

I remember learning this idea when i was younger as its not apparent to many individuals when they have to do mundane work for no reason. This is why you'll hear things like, "When am i ever gonna have to find the derivative in real life" or " why do we have to analyze the why theres a dirty spot on the brides dress". Yeah you might not need them but its not teaching you how to find a derivative, its teaching and developing your complex problem solving skills which are used everyday. Same goes for the analysis of the dress it is not teaching you that the author demonstrated the end of her purity through a dirty splotch on a white dress. It's teaching you to look deeper into things and not take something at face value, and don't get me wrong sometimes it is good to take it at face value, but English teaches you how to do more than that. So when you hear comments about how we should how to do taxes or change tires in school right to a degree, but ignorant as its is equivalent to learning long division at face value not entirely important and many forgot how to do it. Instead of teaching them this teaching kids to learn gives them the ability to apply the the ability to learn on a dedicated effort to learn these skills and can be applied to other skills that need to be learned. Lastly, if you taught a kid how to change their oil them told them solve a bug on their computer they would not be able to be with learning to learn they could.

    1. “Yes, and-ing” means acknowledging your teammates’ ideas and building upon them in your own unique ways.

Looking at this reminds me of the multiple times I've heard these type of sentence and how building on others ideas is beneficial. For instances when having a discussion using words similar to but or that in which acknowledge the idea but dismiss it can be harmful to ones on additional ideas success. However using words like and create a sense of addition and people are more likely to hear your idea out as you acknowledge theirs and cited its a something positive

    1. Once I drew the connection — through reflecting — between embracing fear and positive outcomes in my life, I was then able to apply that lesson to future decisions that seemed initially frightening, yielding even further positive outcomes

This portion of the text quickly stood out as a sign for me to create the connection between fear and future positive outcomes, however the mention that through reflection this connection could be made didn't seem fully right. I have spent countless hours reflecting on life and my future, and personally I would say the application of the reflections it what tears down the fear. The uncomfortable feeling that accompanies fear never truly goes away, but can be mitigated and solved so you can see through the fear. Only by reflecting and applying can the connection be drawn, and thus someone with experience can lack no fear as they can see the positives to come.
