    1. I think duplicate means making a copy of something, like making a copy of a picture on acopier. So I know mitosishas something to do with making copies of chromosomes before it actually generates, or makes, two new cells.

      Think-a-louds are so beneficial for students. It's a strategy I have to write in my lesson plans to remind myself to do- but students always benefit from hearing a model thought process.

      This is such a great vocabulary tool. It reminds me of a Frayer Model, but there are several differences to note. I love the definition in the student's words- the Frayer has an exact definition but I think this type is more beneficial. The Frayer also includes synonyms and antonyms which could aid in student understanding in this Triple-Entry science journal.

    3. Jot a phrasethat helps you connect with the meaning of the word. Draw a picturethat helpsyou recall the definition.

      I love this point because it acknowledges the fact that each student is a unique learner. The first reminder a student can think of should be what they write down on their page. Students shouldn't have to take word-for-word notes- some should come directly from their individual thoughts.
