    1. Stentor had never such a voice at the siege of Troy

Stentor is a character in Homer's Illiad. He was a herald at the siege of Troy and was known to have a voice as loud as over 4 dozen men combined. The siege of Troy, or the Trojan War, was a war between the people of Troy and the early Greeks. This war is a major point in many legendary stories of the time such as Homer's Illiad. https://pantheon.org/articles/s/stentor.html https://www.britannica.com/event/Trojan-War

    2. dried neat’s tongues

Dried neat's tongue is very plainly cow or oxen tongue. It is known to have unique texture, moderate fat content, and high protein content and nutritional value. It is a delicacy in some countries and most popular in Japan. The tongue often weighs 2-4 pounds and is incredibly tender. I personally don't think I could bring myself to eat it no matter the nutritional value my stomach is turning just writing about it.

    1. Look! like as when a tank pours water forth To suit all needs, so do these Brahmans draw Text for all wants

The Brahmans utilize the Bible to draw life from. In John 4:14 Jesus says whoever drinks the water He gives will never thirst. This matches the same analogy here of the tank that pours water forth to suit all needs. The Brahmans drinks of this water from the Holy Text and it satisfies their needs.

    2. In pity lost, by doubtings tossed, My thoughts-distracted-turn To Thee, the Guide I reverence most, That I may counsel learn:

Many times in pity you are not honoring your true self but your sinful desires. In Galatians 5:13 we are called not to fall for these desires, but to walk in truth and in Spirit. But at the same time we are called to be free, so that we may have our own choice to do so. This is why we fall for the desires of the flesh in times of pity and melancholy.
